UPDATED

Now I have a working list of mods which have quests for players level ten and under. I'll need help annotating them as I haven't played them all; but for right now at least we have a number of mods, all with links.

I make no guarantee that these mods are clean, work as they are supposed to, or are compatable with Better Bodies 2, Balmora Expanded, or any other mod. Read the description at the download site, read the readme if you download the mod, and play at your own risk. Void where prohibited. These mods will not give your mouth sex appeal, will not make you look five pounds thinner, and will not be televised. Oh, and if you click on the links you are leaving Bethesda's site and thus cannot hold them responsible for anything offensive found there.

Oluhan is good for low levels. I enjoyed it.
I thought I'd posted something like this before, yep in this thread
anther thing you should try as well is taking a compranion with you : laura craft can be wonderfull ( she's usually stronger then my chacter :-( ), and at least the begining of her quest can be done at level 10, she'll also help you at the other quests.

another low level quest that I really like ( I've been looking for such thing for a long time) is the imperial academy of healing ( can be found at planet elderscrolls).
a mod named havish also has an island and few guild quests that can be done at low level. I don't know where it can be found, sorry :-(
Just google Havish and it will come up, also try Sea Of Destiny. It is a good low level run.
Gren, I do not think there is such a list, though it would be welcome and useful. Happy to help.
Dragon32 is quite right; most of us have answered this one a few times before and lost the replies to Purgetory. I believe I have saved one or two of those threads for posible-archiving-someday. I need to clear off a few other things and then will have a for look them.
Although they do not sort by level as you are intending, these archived threads may also be some help in getting started:
Best Quests for Morrowind and
Purist and Lore Quest Mods?, A quest for reality

Good idea, good luck with this and very nice to be you 'about' again! smile.gif

--------------------

Now where's my "Give a Damn" button gone?
thank you ronin49, the two threads were interesting to read, however, the names of the quests were well known - and most of it demands a high level ( ~ 25) :-( and I haven't seen any new name I haven't seen at the list at mystic mods.
< this part was edited>
the reason I worked on that list of mods was because it's the best place to start looking - let me add the mods from Telesphoros' list :
con part 1
the seeker faction
cult of the clouds
Illuminated Order
Myth and Murder
Sorefoot Enterprises, Inc. 1.5a
TarMar
Twin Lamps of BJ
Twin Lamp and Slavehunters 1.5 can

and another cliffracer mod is the cllifracer burrow ( I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves the idea of hunting down cliffracers?), it meant for 1-5 lvl, but even my 8 lvl knight found it chalenging.
1. In the first place, I am thankful to all who are trying to help me. I very much appreciate it. I think with a little work we can pull together a list that is worthy of finding a home at MythicMods, or somewhere more permanent than a thread in any event.

2. Johari; it looks like you put a lot of time and thought into your last post--however, to me it seems to bog the thread down a bit post that whole list and try to fill in starting levels for all of them. From here on out in this thread, let's just stick to listing what we know (either from the mod's readme or from experience) is suited for low-level characters. I will shortly start such a list and put it in the first post. However, if you would like feedback from the forum about starting levels for everything on Tele's list, maybe that deserves a thread of its own? It's likely other folk would find that to be valuable information, and keeping the two issues separate will ensure that both queries get the attention they deserve.

3. Also, what prompted my search for lower-level quests at this time is specifically so that I can have something to run through--other than the MW quests--before sending my character through Wizard's Islands. I want to play through those 15 levels or so (instead of using, say, Morrowind Montage, or Rings of Level Playing), but if I had a companion with me it might make me level up more slowly, which isn't quite what I am looking for. It is, however, good to know that Laura Craft's quest(s) can be done starting at 10th level, so that fits in with the theme of "Things To Do Before You Hit 15th Level."

At this point, my plan is to first go through those threads and pull out anything that was specifically mentioned as suiting the guidelines I set out above, and to incorporate anything else suggested by folks here. I've actually played a number of things suggested--it's just that at this point I have played so many quests that I sometimes forget what I played at what level. Here at the forum I'll probably keep it just to a list with the mod name and starting level, but hopefully it will turn into more of an annotated list (like Tele's).

Again, thank you, all of you. You folks are why I can't ever see myself leaving this community.

Personally I'd love a list of just Quests that was even more annoteated than my little section. And containing all the quests known to the Morrowind Modding Community... Waaaaay back in the beginning I had always wanted to break the quests section out of ye olde list. But I'm lazy. I'm a dreamer too, can't you tell?

Anywho, need any help maybe I can jog a chip or memory stick somewhere... Oh, the LGNPC project would probably be good as it contains low level quests...

Yar! I hadn't even thought about LGNPC as I don't think of it as primaryily being a quest mod, but you're right that would work!

It's too bad we couldn't hook up a computer at the Hard Rock in Ft. Lauderdale and hammer out said list over some BEER wink.gif You know, if I remember correctly, there is no "last call" at that Hard Rock...

I doubt most people would...of course that's why I mentioned it wink.gif Sorta reminds me of those "Tales" quest mods.

The laptop is fried at the moment. Keyboard sticks in some places, doesn't work for certain keys in others, and the CD Drive doesn't read anymore. Laptops apparently aren't made to be coffee tables...

I have spent many a night and many a morning at the Seminole Casino. It's those damn games of chance that interest the EFAI. And of course the beer.

At any rate, feel free to take any comments or such from ye olde list.

I checked over at Morrowind Mythic Mods to see if there was a list of quest mods aimed at lower level characters (since that's the place I go when looking for themed mod lists), but I didn't find any such thing there. Does such a list exist somewhere else? And if not, can we work together on compiling one? I'm willing to take some time going through various sites looking through mods and lists of mods, if I can also ask for folks to chime in with whatever they know of offhand. By "low level" I'm thinking for mods aimed at characters below, say, 12th level. Or maybe 10th. Something like that.

Yeah.

About a year ago, Finkus did some scripting and helped me out on a simple low-level mod I had in mind. What it does, is cause slightly larger/stronger versions of the mudcrab to spawn when you kill a mudcrab. First, arouond 6 warrior crabs spawn and as you kill them, there is a chance of eleite crabs spawning. As you kill them, there is a small chance of a kingcrab appearing. Each slightly larger than the previous and slightly tougher.

I wanted the mod primarily for my marksmen characters, who simply needed more targets. smile.gif It rather tough on 1-4 lvl mages. But with caution, it can be handled.

Spawning is achieved via a script attached to the mudcrabs. Thats the only creature it is attached to, though it wouldnt be difficult to add it to diseased crabs if a person wanted the spawning to last longer into the game.

Was this mod discussed on the forums at one time? This sounds vaguely familiar. While it's not exactly a quest per se, I'm going to keep it in mind; if I wind up with a number of similar mods, I'll make a sort of addendum.

Tele: yeah, my laptop is starting to have that "won't read CDs" syndrome. The irritating thing is that it will read some disks some of the time, and some things never, and some things once in a blue moon, and there seems to be little rhyme or reason to it. I'm tempted to open it up and see if it's possible to shake enough spilled detritus out of it to get it to function a little more. Thank you for the offer regarding material from The Sacred List. *offers up incense*
The Muck Shovel of Vivec by dongle
QUOTE
A quest to find the Muck Shovel of Vivec. A unique artifact used by Vivec while helping a poor muck farmer who's guar died in the Fields of Kummu. Temple related, but any player factions may participate. Speak to a member of the Dunmer Temple to start the quest. Quest is somewhat independent of your level . Although one weapon skill, and one other skill are favored. A new game is not required. Takes place in Vvardenfell, but the Tribunal expansion is required to play.

It was. Initially I had thought to try and stage a "mudcrab" invasion of Seyda Neen, once a specific mudcrab was killed. An underwater "city" of sorts where the crabs had a hierarchy established etc was the idea. Like many neophyte modders, my ambitions grossly exceeded both my time and my sense of commitment. smile.gif This was a "poor mans" substitute to that ambition.

Oluhan is good for low levels. I enjoyed it.

There are some annoying bugs one should be aware of (or, even better, fix), though. Killing an Imperial NPC often leads to a CTD.

I'm trying to remember Oluhan, as I think I may have played part of it. Is this the one (I'm trying to identify this without possibly spoiling anything) where there is a question of the PC and/or someone else being a spy? As in, the PC gets accused of being a spy at some point?

Ronin: thank you, that's one I wouldn't have thought of. I haven't played it before.
Gren, it would be helpful if the list in the first post contained links to the mods.

Yes. Oluhan sees and knows!
Rob, you're right--I'll get to that at some point relatively soon.

Alexxx: Ah, yes, now I remember. I remember getting rather intimidated by all the suspicion and finally dropped it. I'm such a wuss. wink.gif

Come now, more of you must have low-level mods to recommend (although some of you have already done more than your part, and I am thankful for it.)

Bumppppp? [Add the Tele's Quests List perhaps?]

What happened to the list maker?
Anything happening with this interesting project, Gren?

the hunter mod

Ah, yes, and back to this project. Later today I'll redo the list in the first post, adding more mods to it, and maybe start on getting some links together. I'm going to ask now for any more recommendations and/or blurbs about the mods listed--especially if you know anything that *definitely* conflicts with one of the mods in the list. The more information we can put together, the better this list will be.

I'm sorry I missed your two previous bumps to this Ronin49--I was "away" at the end of Spetember, and I don't know how I missed the March bump.

I added it to the list based on the above recommendation. Maybe we could have some further discussion on the mods that are listed here? I consider this list to be a work-in-progress (even if that progress is mighty slow). I would agree that I would not want to put any of my low-level characters up against a level-20 orc. Anyone else have further thoughts on the inclusion of Sea of Destiny on this list?

I do still want to annotate the entries on this list, but as I haven't played them all, and am not going to put everything else down to test them all, I will need some help, as I had mentioned before. If there's enough interest in the list, then I assume folks will help out by submitting an annotation for one of the mods above that they have already played, or will offer to test one out and provide an annotation or at least some information. If there isn't enough interest, that would mean that the community doesn't need more out of this list than it provides already, in which case we can call it a day. biggrin.gif
Five Toes Guild or FTG is not too bad for a low level quest that starts out in Seyda Neen. There are some conflicts with other mods like GS_Seyda Neen, as the guild house takes the exact same spot as another house. The mod starts off easy enough and except for some issues that may arise using MCA, because of the placement of guards on a fort for one quest ( which could easily be gotten around using frenzy or startcombat ). There are some overpowered elements, such as two traders who are creatures and several trainers who are "masters" but overall I found it easy enough and rewarding in its way.

edit: FTG middle of the page
