The purpose of this thread:

1. To allow those with minimal or no modding skills to express their mod ideas, and hopefully get more experienced modders to either help with or create their ideas.

2. To give modders who are looking for a new project a list of ideas to work with, posted by the modding community.
-------------------------------------
Posting rules:

1. Please use this thread only for posting ideas or agreeing to work on an idea. Please keep discussion about specific ideas/topics to a minimum. If the idea takes off, create a WIP thread to discuss it further.
2. To ensure that there won't be redundant posts, please check the Idea list before posting your idea (incase somebody else has already posted it or something similar).
3. If you think an idea is 'not good/dumb/stupid/boring', or you wish to give specific advice concerning an idea, do not post those thoughts here. Criticism/advice (constructive) should be saved for a WIP or official Idea thread for that topic/idea.
--------------------------------------
The Idea Bank (List)

Any new ideas will be added to this list after being posted, along with whoever had the idea.
Example:
Farting NPC's - a mod that gives random npc's farting noises. (mr idea poster guy). Since some idea descriptions could be very long, I will post only a short description of each. For more info, either contact the poster or read their post below.
Feel free to post ANY ideas you have, whether big or small, or whether you think they'll get made or not. You never know who will like your idea and take it up!
If an idea becomes a mod, or if mods that utilize the idea are already made and found, the idea will be removed from the list.

I will attempt to update this list at least once a day (or twice if I can). If I miss a day, please be patient. I've gotta eat and be social sometimes wink.gif

With that said, I give you:
--------------------------------------

WIng mod allows you to control flight in real time. Please i've begged and begged!

I am sure alot of people will be interested if this takes of. smile.gif

Nadaz
I have an idea:
A mod that replaces the Redoran and Hlaalu buildings style with the Imperial Style(at least the exteriors)
a mod that lets you become duke of Vvardenfell and makes you feel like you are the leader. Or a Telvanni vs. Hlaalu war and you pick what side your on.
Craigor could you also say wing mod that allows you to control flight with equipable wings please? I don't want people to think there's been alot of mods that allow you to control flight without levitation! (AKA madmax)

Thanks,

Nadaz
I will add my req for the wolfrider mod that I brought up in another thread.

EDIT: add link (hopefully I'm doing this right): wolfrider topic Well I can't seem to get this damn link to work, and as I am runnunig out of patience, I will give a synopsis. As far as I know, no one is working on it. The wolfriders are from a comic. They are elves, smaller than wood elves, about the size of maybe 12 or 13 yr. olds. They ride wolves, hence the name. smile.gif They live in a dense forest. As I can't do a link, (I am apparently a moron. Won't mom be proud.), More info for referencing can be found at www.elfquest.com. Sorry about the lack of links.

The Vvardenfell Times - use dongle's printing press and add a faction of sorts that creates a morrowind paper. You can have errand quests, maybe the chance to become a 'reporter' or adventure writer of sorts...

Rebuild the Plaza - a quest to rebuild the plaza in mournhold after you finish the quests

There was a series of mods like that years ago, and the paper was called "The Modern Adventurer."

Here it is on Planet Elder Scrolls. There were 5 mods/issues.
This is a "lite" version - probably both are need for all five. Lite version.

The Plaza rebuild was also made - here it is at Planet Elder Scrolls.

An idea I posted some time ago was called Mountion tombs.
There are really few things to find high up in the mountions.
Its so fun and breath taking to explore the higher regions.
It would be so nice to find more up there.Tombs,Crypts,Caves, and treasure left
behind by those (pre lore).I know this is rather lose ended and is intended to be.
Please someone make a mod that makes mountioneering more than a siteseeing/hunting adventure.
Either a 'good' vampiric bloodline, or a mod to establish a foreign bloodline on Vvardenfell. It would be rather neat to hunt for a lair to establish an all-new clan in.

What regions would you have in mind? There are few places I remember high up in the mountains which allow for tombs or stuff placed there..

My faverite mountions are amoung those in the Molog Amur region,Mt. Kand,Mt.Assanibib.
Also The mountions ranging north and south along the Grazelands, east and west along the fields of Kummu.Really, everywhere I explore in the mountions I find someplace where something could be,something left behind by people from long ago.
An idea if somebody is up to it. the idea is that you can make your own army of mercs, followers, ETC, or join join some faction (I.E. great houses, imperial legion) to invade the regions of your rivals, take over their cities , strongholds, castles. even have your enemies do the same to you by them trying to take back their cities strongholds, castles and invade your region take over your strongholds, and castles, and cities (if it's modder made or you are in a faction). have battles at random places in theirs and your region to take the territory. build some strong holds. in the area.

have mods be compatable with this like: a lords men, castle vianden, armies, firemoth, solstheim castle, white wolf of lokken, and any other good stronghold/ castle mod.

since too many NPCs in one place can severly bring down FPS, mabye have a max of 30 NPCs on each side (it may sound small, but it's pretty big, trust me) also you can use the Idea of Abot's water life dynamic scripting to have the battles vary in size depending on the FPS hit. Have the NPC bodies automatically dissapear after death. and have another NPC take it's place in battle.

I've been looking at castles and strongholds that have no real use and they are just eye candy. Also I've been tired of guards for strongholds that just stand there doing nothing. and have no real use either.
Morrowind Comes Alive, New Races.

I love all those new races out there, but I really wish I could see more of them in the game besides making a character where I only get to see one...
List updated smile.gif Next update will come tomorrow.

@Ostar - thank you for those links. I have removed both ideas, since they've been done already. smile.gif

@jag1313 - has anybody taken on this project yet? If posting an idea that already has an idea thread created for it, please post a link to your thread for easy referencing smile.gif

I also edited a few things in the first post, so feel free to read over it (mainly the list description part)

Cheers.
A mod that lets the player "arrest" NPCs so they don't need to fight them to the death and then turn them into guards for a level (NPCs level) based bounty, the NPCs turned in would "die" to keep quests with them... working.

more detailed explnation

"arresting" could be done if the NPC is at 0 fatigue (an opptional plugin for Assassination 2.0 could let the player arrest them by sneaking up on the NPC from behind) arresting someone puts them in followmode.
A mod that allows you to become captured.
It would be fun to get captured somehow, taken somewhere like a cave or hostile village ect.and have to find my equipment and fight my way out.
my true romance mod. where you can select the person you would wish to be involved with and have an entire quest built around them. Yea it's fantasy.. but you did ask.
I made a request thread a while ago for something I called Less Generic Living Cities of Vvardenfell. I explained what I wanted in detail there.

Also another mod I thought would be good would be random gold for merchants. Pirate Lord's complete trade fix implemented random merchant items, so I think random gold would be possible as well. Each day merchants could have a random number of gold from a range of say +/-2000. It would give the illusion of them trading with other NPC's, as well as rewarding the player for "shopping around".
Leveling Spell .. this one should be easy, I'm just lazy to do it myself.. what I want is the basic spells gets levelled up when you reach certain skill level .. For example, fireball spell, if your destruction skill is over 40 (for every; say; 5 levels), that fireball gains longer durations, bigger min-max damage .. higher skills in destruction, maybe add a weakness to fire too in the spell.. 2 ways of upgrading spells.. delete the old spell and add a new one, naming wont be need to change, 2nd, keep the old spell, but add another spell (so we have fireball, fireball lvl 2, etc etc).. 2nd version could be roleplayed as our char have complete control of his/her skill.. thus not needing to use a high level fireball spell of doom to kill a nix hound.. at the cost of having so many spells in the spell list.

You only need 1 single global script to run every minute or so to check for appropriate skill levels and the relevant spells ..

biggrin.gif simple idea.. told you I'm a lazy guy ^^v
In the Legion faction you get to become a guard! Let me explain in detail...

It will make random NPCs get in fights, create random burglaries, create murders of un quest involved NPCs, create organized crime.... And then you as the guard and mabye a party of guards for the bigger quests get to solve all these crimes! I think it would be a good roleplaying mod. smile.gif Also as was mentioned above you get to arrest NPCs if they commit a crime, mabye somehow even put in public exucutions?

Also if you are discovered to be a corrupt guard then you are put in prison... And you get paid when you work. Mabye even a quest to find corrupt guards? And you can get "shipped" out to other outposts and you are given a room in the forts. I have always wanted to be a guard. tongue.gif Consider it!

Thanks,

Nadaz
Remember the original Zelda, how when you beat it, it would ask you to play it again, but the map and levels would be different? I'm thinking of an esp that changes the landscape of Vvardenfel so drastically, the very shape of the island will change. Towns will be in different places, and re-arranged. It would strictly be an exterior cells job, and obviously dialogue will have to change to match directions and stuff. If it were done, the player would essensially be exploring Morrowind again and it would be completely different. Think of the feeling you had when you first played and explored Morrowind, this idea would try to make it so you get it again. Morrowinds atmosphere is unique among games, the modders would have to try and keep its uniqueness.

I know this probably wont be done, just by the sheer amount of time it would take, not to mention incompatability with almost every mod out there, but I had to say it.

Great idea - but Korana's Tylwyth Fairy Race mod comes close. It's levitation-based, but your fairy wings do flap.

Fantastic idea on the latter. The former idea is also good - it's given me some excellent ideas that I could contribute to TheGeneral's Ebonheart Expansion (runs off to make notes). Would you like to PM me with any specific ideas you had in mind? I can certainly think of a few - basically, the Duke has to go out of town for a few days and leaves you in charge as Hortator-Nerevarine. In the meantime, you might enjoy my Ghostgate mod for a feeling of 'power' as Nerevarine.

A mod that wont let you.........
repair your equipment under water or while levitating
and requires you to remove your helm before merchants will barter with you.
I don't know if one already exists, but I would love to see a mod where you can start your own faction FROM THE GROUND UP! Along the way as you build it up you could make pivotal choices as to what the faction really does or what it will do. I figure that you can find a partner or something to start the faction seeing how creating it out of nowhere wouldn't really work.

Try the Order of Ascadia (same author as the Oblivion Order of Nibay). Granted, the mod was never finished to potential, but it supposefly allows you to buy land, start a guild hall, hire employees, expand the hall, and get a regular income. I do think that it's aimed at a Fighter Guild style organization, but the author had originally talked about having options to go other routes, before he migrated to Oblivion modding.
I wish someone could revamp the Alien vs Predator mod and work out all the odd little bugs.

One of the visual problems is that always bothered me is that the Predator body does not come together well, at the waist the top half does not match up with the bottom half so I wish someone could put it on a BB that would enable you to add any armor, clothes or even the loincloth you wanted and it wouldn't look odd.

Next make the items the Predator wears as separate garments that anyone could wear after killing one.

There is also a problem with the 1st person female hand that dissapears after playing midway through the game.

An addition to this idea - how about a mod that allows you to capture certain high ranking, but non-essential dignitaries and hold them for ransom. You could capture them and take them to one of the slave enclosures that are in many of the bandit caves that you have already cleared. Once the captive is secure you could then send some sort of ransom demand to the House/parents (whoever would be most inclined to pay i suppose) of the victim.

Based on certain variables, the mark would either pay up somehow (instant deposit?, blind drop?, meeting?) or send a posse out to try to catch you and recover the victim.

Some of the variables for whether or not they pay up could be charlevel (both your's, the victims's, and the mark's), your reputation, faction allegiances (sp?), or perhaps if there was a witness to the kidnapping who can provide info to the authorities.

This could also be a great way to introduce bounty hunters to the game.
List updated. I added the plaza rebuild request back, since the mod that exists is not what pc_gamer had in mind. I'll update again tomorrow (or as necessary)

Cheers

This is good Rotten Egg,This perhaps could be be called the Kidnapping mod.
How about a fix on some older mods that don't use BB? The two I know of off hand are Khajiit:Be all you can be, and Silentones. The khajiit one has an option to play as a larger Cathay, and his left leg clips through his pants. Silentones lets you play as a smaller Argonian, and his left leg clips as well. Not sure if this is possible to fix.
Tombs Expanded is a mod that could do with a revamp - less creatures (caused massive fps hit), better lighting and layout would all be very nice. I seem to recall that a team was working on a similar mod to expand dwemer ruins but work was halted for some reason. Expanded Daedric ruins would be cool too.
Body Replacer?
A custom body replacer like the head replacers. What I mean is create variations of existing better bodies and place them on selected npcs ingame just for looks.I realize there may be some difficulties with clothing and clipping to overcome but it would be nice to have Nord males not all the same hight and to see some plump woodelves ect.ect.ect.
Play as a double agent for house Telvanni (or other house).

Would join the Telvanni faction, but would be able to infiltrate either the Hlaalu or Redoran houses. Same quests, but would be setting them up to benefit house Telvanni while still keeping ones cover.
YES! This topic is a great idea, and will keep me from fulling the board with half arsed ideas.

Tennants! So many mods add new places to live. Too many in some cases. Balmora expanded alone adds almost a dozen places to live.

So my idea is this. Each house will have a selection of three tennants.

One will be poor, but keep the place clean and will pay with a small amout of coin, and a mix of alchemy ingredients, repair hammers, and lockpicks.

The second little piggy, Uhh... Tennant, would offer a good amout of cash and a few minor magical items/potions, but be a slob, eventualy spawing beetles and rats that would make him withhold payments untill you got rid of the vermine for him.

The last tennat would offer you a ton of cash and items, but, heheee... Strange things would start happening in the area. guards dieing, ghosts roaming the towns at night, dark robed people performing strange rituals in the light of the full moon.

Now the kicker, Make it random, so you never know what tennant will be the poor one, the slob, or the cultist.

So what do you think? Probibly too hard to make, but STILL, a cool idea.

Yes! I agree biggrin.gif I did make no-light version from Tombs Expanded so someone who likes to spend hours for placing new lights to all new tomb levels could make the revamp. wink.gif

Besides daedric and dwemer ruins, also Strongholds could be revamped to full underground cities.

Few ideas that now comes to mind:

Password locked containers (like in Betrayal at Krondor)
- I do remember that someone made (was it Nigedo?!?) scripted password engine for MW but what I didn't see was treasure mods that use this feature.
- player could find clues for passwords from books, notes or from discussions or chests could give you riddle and correct answer would open it.

Merchants from other provinces
- traders from Daggerfall, from Skyrim etc. with extraordinary items enter Vvardenfell after the Blight has been defeated and borders can be opened again...

I really like this idea, finding clues to treasure in books, chests, ect.clues to good stuff you would otherwise never find.
A playable race called the Aven. Not sure if anything like this has been done or not. Levitate is a must.
QUOTE(Nadaz @ Mar 14 2007, 01:45 PM) *

Thanks,

Nadaz
yes, an extremely improved legion would be awesome.

A Grave Blanket Mod

My idea is that you could put the grave blanket mod on those Perma bodies and it would look like they had been buried.
Someone do this for me. Heh, it's been a while but I still suck at modding. It's still a good idea though....
Quest content mods
Caves, tombs and eggmines that are not part of any quest at all, add up to roughly more than 150.Many of them have little to offer...they are just there...thats it.
I think it would be a neat thing to add quests envolving some of them and one clue somewhere ingame
to send you there. Some ideas could involve more than one location.
I know Tombs Expanded makes even the non quest tombs much more interesting, still it would be cool i think if I found a treasure map on a beach somewhere giving me definate reason to go island hopping in the Bal Fell region in search of Kumarahaz.

EDIT..I would be happy to provide a list of names and locations of the Caves,Tombs and eggmines
for anyone considering this idea, just PM me.

The purpose of this thread:

The Kidnapping Mod - A mod that allows you to become captured, kidnapped, abducted, p'owned (heh), or lets you capture NPC's for possible bounty/reward, etc ()youngwolfe, Rotten_Egg)

I don't know about being kidnapped yourself; but, there is a mod that allows you to "capture" slaves/slavers and sell them to slavers. It had some issues I think; but, those could probably be overcome by some one who knows what they are doing. (I don't) The name of the mod was, "Slavers" by ghostwalker71.

Quote from read-me;
"Slavers adds two new slave markets, one in sayda neen and one in balmora.
It makes it possible to purchase and/or sell all slaves in morrowind as well as claim slaves if you have the key to their bracers and capture and enslave most all of the "smugglers" in the caves and shrines as well as the Mabrigash."

Along the same note; I would like to see "bounty slavers" come after me like the DB does. Something that would impliment after freeing so many slaves. When I first began playing and got the topic from certain NPC's that warned me that Dren was/would send/come after me, I was perpetually in a state of wariness, and dreaded expectation. The "kidnaping" idea above would merge this concept quite well.
I don't know if this is the proper place to request this kind of idea...
...It would require new meshes, textures, loads of time and lost sleep...
(I have been using the various "full immersion" mod's, such as Complete Morrowind, or Morrowind Crafting, and no mater how many times I tell myself to forget it, I DO eventually ask myself... How did I make a King-size bed with only a knife?)
...Please, anyone...*cough* Phil , Wesley *cough* (gee's, I gotta do something about that)...My request is for some quality wood working tools, like a wood lathe, some saws, drill press, etc...

PS... as if this isn't enough to ask for, and if you modding gods are up to it, some attention to metal working tools needs addressing as well...I mean I know that I'm a great jewel smith, if I can make exquisite amulets, and rings with that hulking hammer, and that (log tool looking thing)er, prongs...
...Anyway, thanks to those that have read this far, and even more to those who agree. smile.gif

I had a thread about this idea last summer, which came to nothing - but I still really would love to see it realized.

”When you live for thousands of years, you need a hobby.” Divayth Fyr

A quest/companion mod in which you learn the secrets of how Divayth Fyr created his "daughters" and are able to create your own clones/companions ingame via this technique.

A friend of mine was in a serious car accident on the weekend, and is currently in critical condition in the hospital, on life support. it doesn't look good. so, i'm busy dealing with potential funeral issues and just everything that's happening at the moment, and I don't have time to spare for any modding whatsoever. Nigedo's engine to enter alphabetic passwords was rather bulky, since you had to travel between five different screens to cover 26 letters. If digital passwords are enough, though, Code Locks can be used.

OK I've had a few ideas, so here goes

Playable head/new race - Illyria

Ever since I got a decent modern PC a few years ago (my previous was a Babbage difference engine!) I've been disappointed that there don't seem to be any Egyptian adventure games where you have to decipher lots of hieroglyphs and need a good knowledge of mythology and culture. Is it possible to do this with Morrowind? A good thinking persons quest mod in other words with a lot of historically accurate detail.

The Beast Must Die! A mod based on this film would be cool. Plot wise a rich big game hunter invites several guests to his mansion on an island, suspecting that at least one of them is a werewolf. His intention is to bag the ultimate trophy -plenty of plot twists and mayhem ensue.

Faylynn's Ancient Velothi textures with the Mayan theme are such that I wouldn't dream of playing without them, they are so beautiful. For those not familiar with these textures. What would be great would be to have a less bright version of this so as to look older and weathered, to fit in better with other darker morrowind textures.

I was going to suggest playable heads of Diana Rigg and Patrick Macnee from the Avengers but can't seem to find any high enough res photos that someone might work from.

This is off-topic, but the ancient Egypt setting has to be among the most popular for AGs--PM me to discuss. I have the sense that many typical AG-type puzzles are extremely hard to implement in MW, because of the dialogue system, interface, lack of cutscenes, etc.--but perhaps I just am not imaginative enough. Certainly they are very heavy on dialogue and quest work, and those are relatively rare skills, it seems.

Re: the avenger faces, for Diana Rigg I would try here (several 400x400 images, plus more in clickable thumbs); I had the same problem with Patrick MacNee.

A few posts back--playable dreugh or talking dreugh--I really like that one. Perhaps one of the several creature-converters around would be willing to take that on? unsure.gif

Um, I don't know if it has the properties you seek, but yes, there is a whip mod, search on PES. Dale Stocker made it, I think. There are some problems with the animations I understand that have to do with the limits of the blahblahblah [stuff I don't understand goes here.] Some folks did try to make new/improved whips a while back--dunno what happened but if they got made, they're at PES too.

/back to your regularly scheduled idea bank.
I already posted this ideas but I found this thread just now, so I will post them here again.

FITNESS OF CLOTHES: clothes do wear out with time. When my first character went for a swim from Sadrith Mora to Tel Fyr, it was very strange to wear those same clothes later in the fancy precints of Vivec and people telling me how high-class I am. Salt water would ruin exquisite clothes, not to mention rain, regular sword-slashing or swamp treking.

In the programmer's point of view, a form of weapon/armor weariness could be implemented. Only that clothes wear off with time itself, with double-speed if being in the rain and triple-speed if swimming. It would make more RP sense to take of your clothes before going into the water - maybe making swimming suits?

Worn-out clothes could be taken to the clothier, where they would be fixed or washed - new function for all those clothiers - dry cleaning. Or you could wash your clothes yourself in the type of Morrowind Crafting mod. There is a sload soap out there, I think.
how about a Halo style sniper rifle as a cross bow!

Halo stuff

I'd like too see some small mod where certin awards for the MQ were increased, like the War Cheif tokens.
It would be neat to see some kind of genie/djinn race. One could take some existing parts from an elf or something. Take off the legs and add some kind of smoke effect similar to the water seraph race as seen here:
Water Seraph

Solescape started a thread about possible mods to "teach" you prayers for shrines, and I think that's a rather good idea, so I thought I'd paste it in here. Um, I will quote myself. blush.gif
QUOTE
I always found the easier shrine quests boring and pointless, and so never got around to the harder one . . . which is why I still haven't completed the Temple quests. Anyway, it would be interesting to have an NPC to teach you some sort of appropriate rhyme summarizing the story of the shrine and to tell you about it, or something.

The information would obviously come out of the Pilgrim's Path plus any other lore and interesting other junk the modder wanted to add. shrug.gif
Someone to complete this .. It soo beautiful.
It'd be cool if there was a mod that delayed the battle music coming in until you were actually hit with a weapon and/or spell. Surprise attacks would occur more often, as the battle music interruption wouldn't warn you of imminent danger.

Not sure if that's possible, though.
A mod that places doors in random places around the world, but have the 'gates', as it were, transport you to random other gates. so ounce you go through gate 'A' to gate 'B' if you try to go back through gate 'B' you might be sent to gate 'F',or something along those lines. I could just see a door/gate standing in the middle of the Grazelands that might send you to Balmora, or it might send you to the hart of a Daeadric shrine, or it might send you to the Hlallu treasury in Vivec. In other words, it might send you some where healpful, or it might send you some where dangerous. Also it would be set up so the player has no clue as to where he/she might end up.
I've got an idea.

Does it bother anyone that no matter how much weight you're carrying around, your Athletics rises the same amount. Now, if you were running with 400 pounds rather than with 30, you're obviously doing more work and thus, burning more energy. Maybe a mod that increases how fast your athletics increase dependent on how close you are to full encumbrance (etc. if you're carrying your full capacity, maybe 1.5x-2x the speed of the level).

EDIT: Now that I think about it, it should apply to Acrobatics, too.
I put this idea up about 6 months ago on here as a request. I will put it in here now. thanks for making this thread by the way.

Request:

Name: The Daedric Gauntlet

This is a 100 level dungeon crawler full of puzzles, traps and extreme danger. Only the strongest will survive.

The entrance to the dungeon will be on Maiq the Liars island. he will tell you that the trapdoor next to him leads nowhere.

You go inside and there is a lesser daedra there that explains where you have ended up. You have enterd the Nexuz that connects all of the realms of Oblivion. The Gods created this place for the chosen hero. Many would be adventurers have tried and failed to complete the challenge.

The dungeon would be divided into sections. Each section would be a different part of Oblivion that reflects that Daedra Lords personality. For instance, Sheogoraths realm would be quite mad and insane. Before and after each section would be a rest area. If one retreats to a rest area at the beginning of a section, that section restarts itself and the playet must complete any trials in that section over again. To pass a section the player must get to the next rest area.

Teleporting out of the dungeon while in the middle of a section also resets that section.

The rest area would include the basic shops and whatnot for replenishing items. At the end of each section would be a unique item that reflects that sections Lords personality. Maybe a weapon or armor or a trinket for collecting.

As for the grand prize? That is a secret that only the Chosen One has the worth to know.

This dungeon would have to have mind boggling puzzles. Ridicu, ous riddles. Obscure challenges. I want it to actually challenge the player. To make him think, plan, strategize, overcome and conquer or die with a whimper without pity from our Daedra Lords.

A few ideas:

- A giant cockroach critter; this could be either an outdoor-living cockroach such as the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach or a dirtier sort of bug living in sewers and caves. This could also include a roach meat ingredient.

- More underwater dungeons and sunken ships to make deep sub-oceanic exploration more interesting.

- A joinable Daggerfall-style Witch Coven faction.

- A mod adding keys to ALL slaves/cattle in the game; there are already mods giving keys to some of the (originally) key-less ones, but no mod gives keys to all of them.

- A joinable Census and Excise faction; missions would revove around rooting out smugglers and pirates, but more complex detective work could be added as well.

Also, @Golan2072. Regarding the slave keys, I was a little confused about whether you meant giving every slave a key (as in them having the keys) or in having keys ingame that are for every slave? If you could please clarify this one further, I'll post it. Thanks.

the Grandmaster of Hlaalu mod is one of the best (and obvious) ideas out there:
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...ail&id=5218

I'd love to see straight-up faction extensions for high-level players that incorporate quests that fit the lore, the ability to impact the game world in some way (either with buildings or new ranks or new reactions from people).

the other great thing about faction extensions is that they're very focused and doable. i see so many of these overly ambitious "full expansion pack" ideas that would take forever to actually finish. (*cough*tamrielrebuilt*cough*)

I'd like some help making my mod 'The Axe of Dagon' Daedric Nightclub. Quinn is making the daedric nightclub building and adding the new drinks and scrolls to be purchased. It's a companion mod, the guts of it it is for the player to be able to make friends/ romantic interests and perhaps enemys with the daedra. There is a lot of playable daedra mods, I thought that I would make good use of them instead of them being just a familar with a few commands to save your butt. ( no offence intended ). I just think it would be fun to give them character and personality.

I've had this idea for quite a while, but I've accepted that I will never be able to make it a reality. It's working title was "Papa Don't Preach" but I'm sure someone can come up with a better title.

Basically, the Nerevarine (PC) is called by Tholer Saryoni to accompany his daughter on the Pilgrimage of the Seven Graces. Saryoni's daughter, Ariah, is a strong-willed, rather headstrong young Dunmer with little love for the outlander Nerevarine. They fight a great deal during the first leg of their journey, but Ariah slowly begins to loosen up and they begin to bond. During an extended stay in Gnisis, Ariah expresses her love for the Nerevarine. However, the pair is torn apart by Ariah's suitor, Faethyn Venim (the son of the Redoran Councellor), who demands that he accompany her for the rest of the pilgrimage. The Nerevarine returns to Vivec and witnesses an argument between Ariah and Saryoni. Ariah wants to marry the Nerevarine, but her father wants her to marry Faethyn. Saryoni decides that a duel is in order. Faethyn and the Nerevarine duel and when the Nerevarine wins, Saryoni grants him or her Ariah's hand in marriage.

After their marriage, Ariah becomes a permanent companion (a healer) and will also accompany the Nerevarine on Tribunal Temple quests, providing input and aid (similar to what Kateri did with Julan and the Main Quest).

I have absolutely no idea how this would be done, hence, it is only an idea. But it has been done before, so I can always hope.
make a mod that allows u 2 take off underwear
A mod that lets you pay for a writ for any NPC in the game, makeing it legal for you to kill them. It would go something like you get a charm or scroll with a 'selection' spell. You would get this from Some dark shady figure behind that building over there. And he tells you that whomsoever you use this scroll on, will be marked for death, the scroll itself won't be a hostile action against the person [they won't even know they got hit with it] and what would happen is, when you use this scroll, it makes a writ in some-random-writ-giver's-inventory, and then you would go get that writ from said person, and now you have the ability to legally kill that person...

The idea can be changed of course, the main purpose for the scroll is so you can actually select the NPC, as i can think of no other way to get the game to recognize an NPC and make a writ for them. [is it even possiable for the game to make a book or paper with soemones name?..while in game] You can even add other stuff like, if the person your marking belongs to a faction and you are seen setting up an illegal writ for said person..that faction could go hostile etc...[the writs will be forged, of course, just to make it intresting, and cheaper.] You could even put in a chance that the guards will tell that you have a fake writ. And proceed to smother your existance. Named NPC would probably cost alot more than say your average 'guard' or 'commonor'...[this mod would, of course, have to be compatiable with MCA] And the chance that forged writs will fool the guards could be based off, say, speechcraft [makeing speechcraft not COMPLETELY useless..lol] and a luck combination.

Some other ideas you could throw in this would be makeing the marker [person who givbes scroll that marks someone] and the forged writ seller could randomize locations every once in awhile, so you have to find them.

Anyways, there is one idea i would have alwasy loved to have seen.

Is multipleshot with crossbows/bows possiable? With bow/cross, its the actualy projection that does damage right? [its not a 'hitscan' weapon[hitscan means wether it hits or not is dependant on what exactly the crosshair is pointing at.]]

Another idea I'd love to see implemented into Morrowind, would be some kind of afterlife mod. If the PC happens to die he/she could respawn in a heaven or hell area, maybe depending on how many people the PC has killed that did not have to do with a quest? And while in the afterlife area do a quest to prove the PC worthy of returning to the living world as a ghost. Then the PC would have to find his/her body and return to life. It would probably take a long time to make though...
joinable Imperial Knights (unused fraction) , quests would be in the style of the DF Knightly Orders quests

Wow that would be cool. Hope someone takes this up. smile.gif
What about a mod that makes politics in morrowind more colorful. There would be multiple paths for the main quest (depending on killed people: imagine the replay value!), but House-faction controlled cities would attack you depending on what you do to them and what their disposition is towards you, making morrowind seem more politically/geologically divided (Hlaalu controlled town, Telvanni town, Redoran Town, etc). Maybe depending on your "reputation" with the Houses, more and more random assassins would show up in the towns trying to kill you.

It would also be cool if the enchant value of items increased with enchant skill somehow. I'm not sure how this could be done as "enchant value" is an attribute of an individual item, but I'm pretty sure something has to make it possible.

Random spell-effects attributed to certain ratios of magic damage (ex: if there's a 1/1 ratio of fire/ice, the person will be paralyzed from shock for t= Firedamage/10 - 1).

Ability to use captured souls to get better cast-chance and spell-cost for summons, but it is classified as petty necromancy (along with "soul slavery") so doing so is illegal if seen (the "using soulgem" would be toggled off and on by choosing an option when normally "enchanting" or recharging an item [by dragging the soul gem to the character portrait]).

another interesting idea would be an entirely new total conversion "stylized" mod, which either a) recreates a province/main quest but with entirely new stylized and simplified meshes (the unbalanced proportions for meshes would allow some wiggle room, even if making all the meshes would be difficult) or cool.gif remake morrowind with stylized graphics/ginormous big buildings to add more significance to the landscape.
I made a thread about this mod a while ago, but I can't find it on these forums, I found it on PES forums, heres what I wrote:

QUOTE
I don't think this would be too hard of a mod to make, I can't make it due to my retarded-ness in the construction set.

First off, I should talk about this one mod so you can get an idea of how the mod could work.

There is a mod called assassination neck snap, and the way it works is if you enter a cell and the entire time your in the cell you are sneaking (with the sneak icon there), and you sneak up behind a bandit, you let go of the sneak key, and activate the NPC within 500 milliseconds, a different dialogue box comes up with options to snap neck, leave alone, etc; the successful neck snap is dependant on your sneak skill, short blade, and a mess of other skills.
Ok, now the actual mod the thread is about..

The mod is that you can have the ability to join with any bandit "team" and use services and stuff.

Heres what I was thinking:

You do the same thing as if to snap the NPC's neck with the mod I just described, as if your holding the bandit hostage with a knife to their throat, and depending on different skills, like speechcraft, short blade, etc; you can get the NPC to not be hostile anymore and let you join their team, and when you do it successfully, every bandit in the cave or dungeon is not hostile anymore, and different bandits have different services they offer.

Heres an example:

You go to addamassartus (bandit cave outside Seyda Neen), and you successfully hold up the first bandit woman, and successfully get her to surrender and let you join them. Now that no one is attacking you they offer services, the girl you just holed up could offer companionship, the guy who shoots fireballs can offer training (for him specifically he would train destruction, short blade, and mysticism), and the girl near the crates who throws throwing stars could be the merchant of the place. You can use the slaves there as your own (companions, mules, etc.). This would be the perfect base for a smuggler, right? Merchants, training, slaves, a bed. So instead of making a smuggler/bandit type class and just looting and selling your stuff to regular merchants, it could add a whole new depth of play by adding that roleplayability to smugglers/bandits/whatever else.

Anyone else think this would be a good idea? It might take a while because you'd have to edit alot of bandit caves (adding services, moving bandits so you could do the sneak thing), but I think it would be an awesome mod if done correctly.

Sounds like a good idea, I would definately download it if someone made it, but wouldn't it be 'hard' to script the intitial holding the knife to her neck? I noticed that with 'Slavers' where you capture bandits to sell as slaves, it was very unstable and more often or not I just killed the lot of them because sometimes the script just didn't 'kick in' and 'work' and enable me to capture them.
Check out Enhanced Stealth by JOG, somewhere on this forum

Why not make a thread like this one, only in which all releases are tracked?

Town Criers
In games like Baldurs Gate II and such they have town criers that tell you what is going on. You pay them and the tell you whatever news you want to know about.
I guess it could be done in the same vein as MCA , so it would look like they are traveling around with the news, but just have 1 in small towns and may be more in Vivec.
Would require a lot of dialogue (and I suck at that), to keep it interesting. Attach a lot of lore into the dialogue .Town gossip. Trouble with the houses. Troubles between the guilds.
Maybe set it up like LCV so they go "home" at night.

Bump.
i'm a large fan of DIY Crafting/Cooking/etc. as well as certain realism mods, i just wanted to have a mod similar to the feature in Lady Eternity's Dragon Breech (never made it to Alpha 3..) TC where you can have a job, work in that feild, and create products...however i also want it to have as many features as the previous crafting mods... i happen to know that the Dragon's Breech project is abandoned, and most of it's resources are now available to modders, and i know that with some searching one would be able to find or make the scripts... it's just currently beyond my capabilities with all that i have to do and all... i don't like getting hurt by scripts, they generally kill me at a low level(from another topic)
New Idea: Akavir invasion of Tamriel. I believe Akavir is east of Tamriel's shores, therefore Morrowind would be the first front. The reason would be a simple one: the creatures of Akavir are growing in numbers, there is no more room for them all. And then comes Nerevarine (I believe it is said in Oblivion that Nerevarine went to Akavir at the same time as Vivec disappears?). The mere sight of him/her means there is more land somewhere out there to live on.

If we have a intercontinental invasion, it would be on a gigantic scale. This could be a good reason to throw every major NPC into battle, including high Telvanni mages like Divath Fyr (maybe I missed the spelling), House Hlaalu fighting alongside House Redoran, Indoril Ordinators alongside Dissident Priests and the Ashlanders, Thieves Guild side by side with Cammona Tong, Imperial Legionares side by side with... who knows who, the potential is enourmous. Who will lead? Well, Hortator does mean 'war leader'. Let's give him one.

Well, this isn't the same thing, but there were several mod [WIP]s to add better rumors. Trey Leavens finally added a "secret rumors" topic to everyone (randomly generated)--you unlock it via an item you find in a dungeon and it gives you spoilers/hints about where to find cool stuff in the game. Link.

OK, here's another idea. We have the apology mod that lets us raise low dispositions to, like, 20.
How about kinda the opposite? How about we can argue with NPCs about things or tease them!
Stat-based responses even!

My idea would be a 'take over a Bandit Camp' mod. If you go into a cave and kill the leader, you will get a Personality check. IF your Personality is high enough, you will be able to persuade the Bandits that you can lead them.

You get a whole bunch of guys following you around, and you can give them orders (Attack anything on sight, never attack, defend me).
Oh, oh, oh! I know, what about a mod that uses MGE and/or MWSE to make the eruption of Red Mountain happen again! You know, like it'd be the climax of some really cool quest! Then, your computer would crash because, well, you just guess.

It's just scaled down with the rest of the game. That's why all of the mountains are nothing.
A 2X Vvardenfell is possible, but...well...would it really be wise/possible this late?
1-Not enough modders to basically remake the game.
2-It would make the majority of mods, all that hard work over years, incompatible.

If you're interested, a team of modders is making a 2X Vvardenfell for Oblivion.
Screenshots of Red Mountain, wow it's huge.

They have this! it's a mod called Blood and Gore. There are some options that add fire damage and such. I use it quite often and recommend it if you have a computer that will handle it.
I have a couple more ideas.

Smart AI- I don't want to see cheap AI like in Halo 2. For Example= Buffing the NPCs to make them stronger and harder to kill, that is smart AI.

Smart AI is:

Allowing the NPC to strategize. The NPC will notice what the PC is doing. If the PC jumps on top of the rock the NPC will do the same. NPC's now just run around in circles not sure what to do. If the NPC takes damage, he will heal himself. The NPC will dodge arrows and dodge your melee attacks. He can side-jump and strike you. Instead of running at you and spewing obscenities, he will sneak up on you adn strike (bandits and the like always give themselves away). I want the NPC to look before he leaps. He sees the PC wearing Daedric armor, meaning the PC is probably very strong with a high Heavy Armor Skill. So the NPC switches to his strongest weapon and strongest spells. NPCs that appear as a team, should work as a team instead of blindly attacking the PC. This is mainly for humanoid type NPCs, it wil be up to the modder to decide if animals should be smarter. Cliffracers should definately steer clear of high level PCs, they always die anyways, and they are annoying. I know there are mods that completely take away all Cliffracers, but then we couldn't get the plumes...

If he notices that spells reflect off of the PC, he will know not to use them, NPCs now cast spells until they run out of Magic... regardless of how much damage they recieve from Reflect. That is absurd.

There are many things the NPC should be capable of...

---

How about a spell that allows player to enter the realms of Oblivion? All 16 of them. Each realm historically acurate to its bearer, complete with quests and new unique items, weapons and armors.

Okay, you can cross this off the list. I'm about to make a RELz thread.
Bandit mods that allow you to raid innocent merchants traveling with their pack guar!

And also guard mods. ( Example : Patrol torches around town which you have to activate all to complete your patrol, and some will spawn bandits that you will have to fight off for a journal update which you can report to the Guard Captain for extra payment / reward after completion of your patrol. )
Here's one: when Argonians put on armor, their tail remains exposed to injuries. How about making a special tail armor, one with spikes pointing from it. It would make some sense for Argonians to use their tail as a weapon, but that's a separate idea.
A playable Dark Brotherhood guild mod.

Yes, I was in the works with Agheil with this mod, but I was only the quest planner and story writer and such, and Agheil had disappeared all of a sudden.

The DB is a sacrificial clan, or so I've read. In my opinion, I think they'd want quality over quanity, and if you've played through the Mournhold Main Quest, or atleast the portion involving the Dark Brotherhood, a big bloodbath is witnessed by the Brotherhood.

Maybe a quest where you recruit more members for the DB, that could turn out interesting. And maybe some Morag Tong assassinations, although you would probably have to make some new NPCs for it, so it doesn't conflict with the Morag Tong Questline.

Ooh, and I have another idea for a quest. Seeing as most NPCs equip every good piece of equipment that you sell to them, why not have a quest where you sell a "Shirt of Suicide" or "Ring of Death" to a cluless NPC. I know there's a mod that fixes this, but it'd be fun seeing this.

I will be someone's Argonian Slave if they take on this mod. ohmy.gif

Eh, well, how are they going to eat them? Remember that Morrowind NPCs are starving, depressed people. Well most of them atleast.
Here's a scheme that occurred to me driving to school this morning:

Glow-mapped Sky.

It's an inkling of a notion right now, but the gist is, use MGE filters or shaders to somehow "glow-map" the sky, such that bright points actually glow bright (say, sun peeking through a cloud), whereas dark points are actually dark (the underside of a thundercloud). The skies in MW are beautiful, but far too flat for my liking. There needs to be some kind of diversity or enhancement - something to make them really come alive.
So I was walking around ebonhart and I was up on the wall look over the side and I thought to myself, it would be freaking awsome if there was a full scale invasion on a fort for us legion types. I can see it now... archers all over and catapults and soldiers sniping from the walls. Yes this would be tight, but I would have no idea how to integrate melee, cause obviously if you ran out into a bunch of soldiers you would get owned or if they came into the fort they would get owned (if it was a BIG BATTLE anyway). The PC could act as like a commander and tell different troops what to do and/or place troops in certain areas. Would be very cool if it wouldn't be so hard to pull off cry_smile.gif
QUOTE(Nadaz @ Mar 14 2007, 12:45 PM) *

Thanks,

Nadaz

I guess it's about time I post some of my own ideas, lol.

Morrowind CCG - that's Collectible Card Game (as in Magic The Gathering)

A series of Morrowind collectible in-game cards featuring different places, people, famous armor and weapons, etc. Although I imagine it would be extremely difficult to engineer a playable mini-game with them, they could simply be collectors items. For example, you could have an Azura card, or a Balmora card, Umbra card, etc etc. Each card would have an 'ability' or special feature related to the card's namesake.

Tall Tales
When you visit pubs/inns/taverns, especially ones in little fishing towns or near docks, there's somebody telling some crazy story about some legendary beast, fabled treasure, etc. When you talk to them, you won't get any official quest, but your journal will be updated and you can choose to hunt down these 'tall tales'. Some of them could be true legends, others false, but you won't know which are true and which aren't without taking the journey. If you find the legendary treasure or slay the mythical beast, you can bring back evidence to the story-teller, and they'll start telling the story of 'Mighty [Insert Name Here], who was seven feet tall and had fire for eyes' or some other made up nonsense about you.

How about a mod that makes the legion, armingers, ordinators and house warriors actively fighting off Dagoth Ur's monsters, just like lore and dialogue imply? They made that mod for Oblivion, why not Morrowind?

Actually I might do this myself. Shouldn't be too difficult.
An 'after death' mod of sorts. One that, when you are killed, places a copy of your 'body' as a corpse, and you become a ghost. You've got 24 hours to get to a Temple or Healer who can 'heal' (aka revive) you. But now you've gotta get back to where your body fell in order to get your gear. (sorta like Diablo II, Icewind Dale, Dungeon Seige, etc)

    Okay, this is a biggie...

... And I am not overestimating it when I say 'biggie'...

I would like a mod I call 'Early Amestris' to be created, allowing you to go to most of the countries located in the Full Metal Alchemist Anime and Manga. This would be post Hohenheim-Dante Tragedy, where the city that Amestris was built over fell into the earth and became Shambala, but before the events of Full Metal Alchemist (If you're using Envy's age as a factor, he would be around a hundred years old by now). In Amestris, a new form of alchemy has emerged which acts more as powerful, destructive and reconstructive magic. The many NPCs you encounter will include Dante, Hohenheim, King Bradley I (Fuher King Bradley's grandfather before FKB became a homunculus), and Envy. You will also encounter various NPCs with great resemblance to the current characters, such as Roy's descendants and Armstrong's Artistic Grandparents that Have Been Passed Down From Generation to... Wait... That can't be right. Anyways, the quests will commonly consist of helping the governement get set up and dealing with disturbances, occasionally using Alchemy. You would become the first State Alchemist, should you complete all of the quests for the state, or could change your race if you were to follow the path of darkness, taking Dante and Envy's quests which mainly consist of espionage, assassination, and the delivery of the illegal red stones.

There's much to do outside of the Amestris area. You can visit Ishbal, which is still standing thanks to the fact that the government of Early Amestris isn't quite as prejiduce... The other countries will also be accessable, allowing you to travel freely between the lands of the sub-continent... But, be warned, your actions within each nation could spark anger between them, and routes that would easilly let you travel to other countries can be closed off or, in some cases, completely erradicated.

... Another nice addition is the massive dungeon that Dante and Envy call home, which is the Underground City. In this area, you can take on the incomplete homunculi and golems that roam the eternally dark streets, or you can go to Dante's Mansion and talk to her about some powerful alchemy. In particular, missions with her will involve capturing and delivering young maidens to serve as hosts... Or at least, that's what the missions will consist of until after her Philosopher's Stone shatters. As for Envy, you can find him in his room, where he sits in a rather depressed state, still upset that his father abandonned him. You can cheer him up by taking him on Assassination Runs, and, eventually, on a hunt for Hohenheim himself to try and complete a new Philosopher's Stone. Once the task of tracking down the method to creating the stone is complete, players will be forced into a massive gauntlet, going through what Dante calls 'The Colleseum". Prisoners from the jail above (which will be filled by now due to the amount of people blamed for yout crimes) will be waiting to fight you, and once one hundred of them have been defeated, the Philosopher's Stone can be transmuted. You then have the option to take it from Dante or let her have it. Choose the first, and Dante will seal you and kill you. Choose the second, and she will agree to allowing you to create a second stone that will amplify all of your stats (in particular, your alchemy)... However, the stone is very fragile, as it isn't complete. You will either have to go through another round with the stone equiped (to absorb the souls of the prisoners) or return after your stone shatters.

This mod would bring about many things, including:
    • A massive island south of the mainland known as the Sub-Continent, Endora
    • The Amestris Alchemy skill, with its own set of spells and its own tutors.
    • A new race: Homunculus
    • The oppurtunity to visit places like Xing, Dublith, and Siam Sid for the first time on the PC.
    • The chance to fight against opponents like Hohenheim of Light, Dante, Envy, and Fuher King Bradley I.
    • Automail, which will serve as an armor-weapon combo (armblade included).
    • Advanced Politics where you choose how the continent develops, every action by your NPC affecting Amestris and its bordering countries
    • ... And Much More!
    Witness protection program (quest idea):

Cammona Tong is getting bolder every year. The only way to take them down is to get witnesses who would testify against them or give out their hiding places. But Cammona Tong has a way of dispatching those who intend to harm their operations. Therefore the Empire organizes a witness protection program, who - believe it or not - shield those that attempt to bring the Cammona Tong down.

This could be a good chance to expand the whole Cammona Tong organization by creating their skooma labs (there is a mod allowing the player to own a skooma lab), possibly putting them into Dwemer ruins (all those gizmos could be used for skooma processing) or underwater shrines or similar structures. The player could organize a raid and burn down the labs, CT could then organize a counter-attack by acts of public terrorism.
Playable instruments, useing the arrow keys and the numpad 0/ins key (or whatever the player configures it too) the player can acctuly play instruments (yes the way I sugjusted is taken from OoT/MM shut up) bonus points for makeing the OoT/MM songs have effects.

    should be easy with MWSE
Just returned to my Hlaalu Manor from Mournhold and realized I have 470 dwemer coins in my possession. So I started thinking - are they useful for anything or are they simply trinkets you can sell for money? Why doesn't someone do a mod with some dwemer machines that need these coins to make them go? There was an old game of Indiana Jones: the search for Atlantis or something similar. There they used orichalcum beads to make the robots and machines of Atlantis do what they are suppose to do? How about making a mod about finding some lost dwemer supermachine that needs dwemer coins to function?
[pm me if any of there were done]

3Dimensional water surface, I have seen this in a game called Blood 2 (game itself sucks), and it looked pretty kewl. This + new texture + great water transparency, I think would create great looking waves.

A whole floating castle like HIGH above somewhere. It would be old with chunks of debris floating around it as well as cement chunks, to create the effect that someone just ripped the castle out of the ground and made it levitate high above. Insides should have a few cool things here and there, as well as a boss monster thing. After defeating it, you would gain the ability to teleport there (and back?) and have a cool castle that floats in the air to youself, just don't fall to the ground. Would be nice to have the debris around the castle have some goodies (cuz it is dangerous to jump around floating platforms when you could fall to the ground). Some cool effects and stuff would also be nice...

I see you have tail armor for yem argys, add khajiis as well.... And well generally moar beatie armor

Did anyone remodel the khajiit head, not just retex? if not, it is idea ^^_

New shield effect, the egg shield looks like a damn egg, and not a lame retex either - had that already.

New enchant effect, maybe like a semi-transperent animated texture with different looks for different enchants? (I am thinking of like blue and white clouds for the frost enchant for example)

    Fake Death

MCA with more realism... I mean there this one that renamed a few of the NPCs to match, but still some of their armors and names and stuff is just... not synced with Morrowind Universe.

Replacement for all the effects, not just a few.

lots Staffs and Books that shoot spells?

I guess I'll toss my ideas into the hat. Er, bank. They occurred to me after playing mainly archer/thief type characters.

    1) Spells or abilities based not on schools of magic or magic-related stats, but on other stats. They wouldn't consume magicka, but their success would depend on, say, your personality stat or sneak skill. Call them feats or tricks, you'll see what I mean with this example: the feat Impersonate, to raise your reputation with members of a certain faction. Something unique like that, and not just another spell to raise your speechcraft. (Or maybe, sure, a non-spell sort of spell to raise your speechcraft, for instance.)

Another example of such a spell or a skill to be handled entirely differently: the ability to forge something, as in a forgery. To make some fake artifacts or even counterfeit coins, with a chance of either getting rich quick or being detected and getting in huge trouble. Or forged items could be swapped for real ones, like this - you open a chest or crate right in front of someone, make the switch from your inventory, and if you're successful the owner won't know that you actually took the item.

    2) Mounted cavalry. Like Reiklings on boars, only I'm picturing Dunmer archers on battle-outfitted silt striders, like with a platform strapped to their shells. To fight back you'd either have to have real good aim and pick the guys off, or bring the whole beast down. As a bonus, picture dozens of these striding into battle...

    3) And for fun: transmutation. The ability to turn one type of item into another (coal into diamonds sort of thing), or even trash into treasure. I guess it could be done through a one-use-daily power, or a spell that would develop with time and training, eventually letting you create better and better things. The scripting of "item swapping" would probably not be the hard part, but how to implement it in a fair and non-cheaty way.

If it hasn't already been suggested, I think it would be nice to have a version of SPAM for Morrowind. GCD is great, but I'd like to have something "lighter" and closer to Morrowind's leveling system without the need to micromanage skill increases.
It takes a mesh to glow-map something, right? Well the skydome and a few other "pieces" that make up the sky are actually meshes. Look on NifSkope in the CS CD.

So if we use certain textures and alpha some of them, we can get some glowmapping going on.
Bumpy... because I like this thread so much. happy.gif
    hmm, lots of great ideas.
*goes of to practice some more modding*
    Socks.

I just realized that nobody in Tamriel owns a pair of bloody socks. Bonus points if you can also wear them on your hands in the mod.

EDIT: 'bloody socks' is figurative, but if there was an actual pair of socks coated in bloodstains.. whee!
this thread is a good one.

This was just an idea I had since I think there's all to few buisness mods out there. So I thought; Why not a Smuggling Business Sim?

    The Idea:

    - Since there's so many smuggler caves along the shorelines of Vvardenfel, the "sim" hideout could also be located in one of these.

    - "Mainquest" to make yout smuggling operation the largest on Vvardenfel. Could include bribing of Imperial officals, striking deals with Great House members and the like. Maybe sabotaging other smuggler operations around, making sure you get the to be "the boss".

    - Respawning "Fed-Ex" quests, forexample deliver that and that to a certain location. Pick up the cargo at yout "contact's" place and bring it somewhere else. Inside the smuggler cave there could also be a travel service to different locations, prices depending on how far away they are.

-In order to "join", one could visit the right cave, and instead of rampaging through it all, one could talk to the boss and ask for work. Starting out, the PC would start with the mainquest, becoming the leader of the band of smugglers at last, being able to do respawning quests for gold. (the transport here, transport there thingie).

Any more suggestions? Maybe there could be a % chance of getting caught while pulling of a job. Would certainly make it riskier.

Hope someone would like to work further on this, maybe making a mod out of it. Would be really fun since there are so few business sims in the "modding market". I myself don't have the skills to pull it off. Let's hope somebody else does.

Was also "discussed" in this thread: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=776511
