Pundaab Playset v1

Author: Blue Eagle

Pundaabs are airborne mud homes built by hanging dried and hollowed out mud spheres from
a ball of netting containing koda flowers, which have properties that
can cause levitation. Pundaabs are said to have originated in the Bitter Coast region.

This package is considered a "modder's resource" and adds new material
in the Construction Set to make mods with.
Adds 50 models for floating mudball homes and various furnishings to the statics and doors list.
Does not add anything in-game.

Feel free to use this material as long as you give me proper credit.

It is easiest to work with these pieces with your grid snap set to 32 or 64
and your angle snap set to 45. Adjust your angle snap under File> Preferences
or by clicking the button to the right of the save button.

You can also adjust the size of pieces by double clicking on them
and adjusting the 3d scale value.

be_pd_pundaabexterior_1-4.NIF = The outside of the Pundaab in various sizes.

be_pd_punddoor_1.NIF = Normal Doorframe.

be_pd_punddoor_2.NIF Exterior Doorframe with tiny porch.

be_pd_pundfloor_1-15.NIF = Various shapes that can be used as floors, walls, or ramps.

be_pd_pundinpole_1-4.NIF = Four different lengths of poles.

be_pd_pundinterior_1-4.NIF = The spherical interior of the Pundaab in various sizes.

be_pd_pundladder_1-4.NIF = Various lengths of ladders that can also be tilted for use as stairs.
NOTE: One side of the ladder models has an invisable stair-like part that allows for them to be tilted at
steeper angles and still allow players to climb it. In the Construction set, one side of the bounding box
(the multi-colored wire box that appears around something that is selected) around the ladder will be farther
out. Thats the side with the stairs.

be_pd_pundwin_1.NIF = Small Window Frame.

be_pd_pundwindow_1.NIF = Large Window

be_pd_pundwindow_2.NIF = Small Window.

be_pd_pundwooddoor_1-2.NIF = Two Exterior Doors. Number two can be retextured with other sign textures.

be_pd_pundwooddoorin_1.NIF = Interior door.

be_pd_pundstone_1-2.NIF = Small, circular stones that can be used as stepping stones or ballast weights.

be_pd_pundcirc_1-2.NIF = A quarter of a "doughnut" shaped platform.

be_pd_pundball_1-4.NIF = The koda ball from the top of the Pundaab as a seperate model in various Sizes.

be_pd_pundrope_1-2.NIF = The first rope is for tying the Koda Ball models to Poles, and the second is for
hanging either of the two stone models from the bottom of the exterior for use as ballast stones.

be_pd_pundcap_1.NIF = Small sphere of mud used for covering the open bottom ends of Rope Bride Poles.

Enjoy! :)

In celebration of Planet Elder Scrolls and File Planet finally working for me, here's a re-release of the Pundaab Playset.
Due to it not being released on the quintessential Morrowind mod site, this landed with a dull thud the first time I released it in 2005.
Since my interest in Morrowind is renewed (Thanks mostly to the Morrowind Graphics Extender) I thought I would give this mod another chance.
It didn't land with a dull thud with me. I downloaded it and added a few to my game at the time and loved playing with them. Thanks so much for uploading this again . This mod deserves to be better known.
THANK YOU!!!

oh god, I'm going to have so much fun with this.
Pseron, That is among the nicest things anyone has ever said to me. blush.gif
Thank you, Blue Eagle! Korana used these in her Tylwyth mod - yet I did not realise they were a resource!

Cheers,

Swiveller
Well, you know I'm a fan of this wonderful set of meshes. wink.gif

These are great. fing34.gif
I think the idea of a "mud home" may have put folks off, which is a shame because this mod looks cool. They look like something I'd enjoy decoration, so I'm going to give this a spin. Thank you for bringing this to our attention again.

Blue Eagle, you know I love this resource . . . cake.gif

And I'm STILL looking for the model home you gave me, hoping it will turn up somewhere on some forgotten corner of a hard drive. comp26.gif

A bit more advanced in the CS now and was hoping to download this for my own modding purposes--thanks for drawing attention to its new easy-to-find location! fing34.gif
Oh, they're under the doors tab. Never mind.
Did I mention I've been away from Morrowind modding for a while?
Start the presses again.

Stop the presses!

I just realized (Three Years After Making this mod) that I never added the doors to the statics list in the esp!

DOH! banghead.gif

I'm going to have to save it, reclean it, have someone test it, and the update the download.
I need a tutorial on how to clean the esp and someone to test.

For everyone who already has it, the meshes are there, you just have to add them to the statics yourself.
Wow, never saw this one, glad you bumped it back, I almost missed great thing!
Looks like I'm pretty firmly back into Morrowind modding for the time being.

Maybe I could release a few pundaab houses of my own?

I was also considering making a new version of my glass weapons that
added them to the leveled lists and maybe a few places in the game.
However, I don't really know how to do it and would appreciate someone pointing
me to a tutorial.

I have started redoing one of my old abandoned projects from scratch.
I'll need someone to texture the models when I'm done with them.

I remember way back then there was even a thread by someone asking for help to adapt them to Oblivion (though I think the thread will have been pruned from the messageboard's data base, it was really old).
Yeah, you should, those are the best glass weapons models I've ever seen, very original! You don't know how to use cs?
I know the basic placing and landscaping and adding things to the static lists and such,
but I never learned scripting or dialog or leveled lists or anything like that.
Oh, well very simple, you find leveled items tab. You open it and create a new one. Now you must drag those weapons (the ones you will add in weapons tab) to the list. The number by it in the list is what v you must be to be able to get it spawned in the container. Also there is a chance that item will not appear that you can change as you wish. The two boxes over it are: calculate from all lv....(calculates those levels, always check) and calculate for each item in count. That can or doesn't have to be checked. Then when you are finished with that make new container (you know, open one up, change the ID, save) and drag that leveled one into container's list. So there you have it. Hope this helps.

Cheers

You might check this thread, about levelled loot tutorials. There are also some links within it to other useful levelled list/levelled loot info. 932.gif Those weapons look great and I hope you update them.

What kind of texture do you want on your new models?
Edit: Forgot to thank you for the tutorial. blush.gif

I was thinking it's going to be a steel frame building with a brick and stone facade.
Vvardenfell is a volcanic island, and therefor most likely seismically active.
Brick mortar liquefies during earthquakes, so it should be a steel building with a facade,
much like London's tower bridge. Also the bricks were infused with the
vapors from netch air sacs to reduce weight and enchanted in a way that makes them attract to each other.
So bricks that been knocked loose are floating around the structure.
As for the look, I was thinking very similar to the watchtower of my hometown's city hall.
(click the link under the picture for a better resolution pic.)
Well, I forgot to let you know I got the house, so . . . shrug.gif

I'd be happy to help with the textures, though kittybrod already has some lovely brick textured imperial buildings and often does texture req's . . . you might PM her. wink.gif Great building, look forward to new meshes.
I think this may have gone *thud* again.
Maybe it would help keep this alive If I started making small pundaab house mods?
I think it would probably help if you did some sort of simple, well made house using the resource. AFAIK, there has only been one house mod using the resource posted on PES, so a lot of people probably aren't aware of this mod. Which is a shame, it's an amazing resource and provides an excellent way to make houses which are much, much less likely to conflict with other mods that add to exterior cells.

My advice: Consider throwing together some .ESP files with a basic floor/ladder/door layout already done. This would both provide a base for people to work from, so as to simplify the house mod creation process using your resource, and provide a sort of example for people to look at and see how everything should fit together.

Pundaab houses are a bit harder to make due to their 3D nature, so a tutorial might also be in order (what pieces are best used for what, how to scale pieces for the small/medium/large houses, etc.)

Basically, make it as simple as possible to create a working house using your mod. The community could do the rest.

Hej Blue,

Here's another idea (if nobody else has said it yet): How's about making the Pundaab egg-shaped. The net of Koda's could be put in the top of the Home, pushing against its ceiling from inside and simultaneously illuminating the interior! smile.gif

An alternative to the egg-shaped Pundaab would be a Pundaab with a big hole in the top, in which the Koda-ball would rest. The ropes around the whole construction would need to be pulled tighter...

I totally lack the skills to shape the models for it... Thought it would be nice, though.

Btw: thanks for the reply about the Bottle Home.

Carnice aka BoilingOil
An additional idea: make miniature mudballs, and an inventory icon. Folks can then make portable homes of them (like the bottle home). Although I suppose a rick would do as the part that is carried, if you didn't want to make the miniature mesh. [shrug]
^^^ DARN, I was stupid not to mention that one!

EDIT: miniature as in: small enough to use them as projectiles... thrown weapons that blind the target smile.gif
Guys, It looks like I'm getting back into oblivion.
Uh, I may be gone a while.
Okay, I'm working on a proper pundaab manor right now.
It consists of one size 3 pundaab for the main area, and two size one pundaabs for the storage room and master bedroom.
The main daab just needs furnished, and the bedroom is almost done.
Concerning the storage, I heard that Items would vanish from containers after a while.
Is there a way to prevent that?
I think that the items only disappear if you put them in respawning containers or something.. I don't remember. I had my items stored in the crates outside in the business district at Balmora for at least a year game time and they never disappeared.
Sorry I haven't posted here in a while, I just started a new job recently.
Anyhow, I've resumed work on the pundaab manor.
Due to it's unique layout, it's a bit hard to take screenshots that show much.
Here's a quick in-editor shot that shows storage and a small library.

Edit: Here's a shot of the master bedroom, as well.
