Midgetalien’s Ultimate Guide to Creature ModsA guide to mods that expand on the creatures and critters of MorrowindV 0.10 (10 July 2008)This guide is an attempt to cover creature mods that exist out there for Morrowind. This guide will try to be a list of all the creature mods out there, namely cataloguing new creatures. It will not be an attempt of being a guide for ALL creature mods. For example realism mods or hunting mods for which there is already a list. Though one or two of those mods may crop up in this list depending upon their content and if people wish them on here.
NPC mods will not be included for they are their own subject and by rights should have their own list. However Morrowind Comes Alive (MCA) will show up for while it is a major NPC mod it adds new creatures and critters for the player to enjoy which are set up as NPC’s.
This guide will be an attempt to also provide helpful information as to (1) what creatures are added and how large a scale (i.e. leveled lists, one tomb, scattered around caves etc…) (2) the general quality of the mod, paying attention to how its integrated into Morrowind, the quality of the meshes (3) any additional functionality offered by the mod; and (4), where possible, known conflicts and technical problems.
When possible I will indicate if the mod is a resource (i.e. nothing placed in game)
I hope this guide proves useful to you and I’d welcome back any feedback (especially spelling and grammar errors in this guide) If you have any corrections, additions to make or just want to say what was useful to you feel free to say so.

Large Creature AdditionsThese mods add a huge amount of content to the game in terms of creatures and gameplay. This is the first palce anyone should look when looking to expand on the critters of Morrowind. Piratelords Creatures X is one mod that stands out above the rest.
Creatures X[
Piratelord]: An ambitious mod that takes resources from the Elderscrolls community and combines them into one mod. If that wasn’t enough each creature in the mod is a lore accurate creature (as far as can be) so expect no dragons here! Its this balance of variation and attempting to keep the creatures in theme with the game that make this mod a must have. The Creatures in the mod are of high quality and well balanced
There is also a Patch available here.

- Eye-Candy creatures that can be disabled via console (to help FPS)
- Some unique behavior Creatures

Screenshots on websiteMorrowind Comes Alive (MCA)[
Neoptolemus]: MCA is one of those mods that once you play Morrowind with it installed you will never remove it from your mod list. It is essentially an NPC mod, but it does offer creatures such as zombies, mummies and others. It also offers companions, one or two being a zombie

and many, many enemies to the lands of Morrowind.
Features:- Randomly adds over 1000 types of NPCs to over 450 cells via leveled lists to bring Morrowind to life.
- The NPCs have random heads, hair, and equipment (so no two will look the same – includes creature NPC’s)
- You will also encounter a number of NPCs in the wilderness, including parties of travelers, adventurers and bandits, hostile and peaceful Ashlanders, guard patrols, and parties of Ordinators and Buoyant Armigers on Red Mountain. Undead and vampire NPCs are also included
- Integrates a stripped down version of “The Undead v2.2”
- All NPCs (excepting beast races) have new heads and hair, and many wear clothing and armor from the MW modding community
Morrowind Advanced:[
WormGod] WormGod was apparently the Forum name of one of the developers that worked on Morrowind, and as such this mod holds a lot of regard in terms of an unofficial add-on. Morrowind Advanced was made for characters who are looking for a greater challenge within the game. It features many new creatures as well as balancing leveled lists to provide a more challenging game.
Features include:- new creatures, both in the leveled lists and placed to make the playing experience more of a challenge
- loot lists have been toned down to provide more of a challenge
- New random leveled Daedric containers can be found
- New Dungeon
Water Life [
Abot]: Water life is a truly unique mod compared to other creature mods. It’s a mod that adds content to the game that should have been there to begin with, but not only that, it touches upon one area that has hardly been touched before: Morrowinds Oceans. The combination of oceanic life as well as detailed shipwrecks, underwater palaces and general scenery make this mod a must have!
Features:- adds various water-related creatures
- for all youngsters/impressionable/contemplative people, a "Less aggressive predators" configuration option to allow more contemplative water trips
- Treasure Hunting
- Fishing
- New ingredients
- Atmospheric underwater scenery

Where are all the birds going? [Abot]: just like water life brings life to the oceans, this mod aims to bring life to the sky! It adds numerous new birds to the game. This plugin adds to Morrowind peaceful flying birds so now there’s more than cliffracers in the sky.
Features- Birds! In the sky and on the ground (ducks)

Adam]: I haven’t personally used this mod, so I am going to have to go by what I have heard about it. It supposedly adds new creatures to the game to make it more of a challenge and more fun to play. Also aims to balance the game out by making monsters harder to kill and levelling up harder as well.
This is only part one! As you can see from the contents page i have a lot more to add and will update it as soon as possible. Feel free to make suggestions and addition though

Expect more tommrrow.
