Since I first saw Vilvern from the Imperial City Sewer exit, I knew I was in love... wub.gif

I have started this list to help my fellow Ayleid enthusiasts, and myself, find those mods they crave!


If you have a mod, any mod, please run it by me. We are currently in major need of lore and quest mods, though any others would be sufficient.
Also, if you have a mod that is not directly related to the Ayleids, yet can still be labeled Ayleid, post a link. I might file it under "indirect".

Hmm, actually this is of interest to me as well, as I don't know of any. There really should be a lore mod expanding the lore of the ayelids.

those certainly do look nice! Only one I had heard of before was Gift of Kyanareth. Yeah, lore mods intrigue me the most, so if there was that lofty chance that a mod on ayelid lore was released I would play it to no end. Kind of like how I'm waiting for the Dragon break.

EDIT Andragorn makes some very Ayleid looking armor mods, but they aren't located in ruins. What do you guys think? Are these armors worthy of the list, even though they don't seem to directly relate the the Ayleids?

Where is that armor that Naja just released?
I came upon a Aylied House mod that you may be interested in. I don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for, but if your Aylied fanatic wants to live in an Aylied home, you might want to check out Aranmathi, and make sure you get the patch for it.

I'll drop by here if anything else crosses my mind. I like Aylied stuff too smile.gif

Arrows of the Ayleid King isn't merged with OOO. I'd know, I'm involved in OOO's behind-the-scenes. You may be thinking of Ayleid Meteoric Iron Weapons, which is bundled into OOO.
Ah, I didn't think it was ^.^ I am currently using the stand alone version and wanted to make sure though. ;]
Ayleid Extensions

That mod adds Ayleid clutter to certain ruins. biggrin.gif

EDIT
The mod has bowls, goblets, and other things. Very useful if you want to add some Ayleid accents to your home.



EDIT(2) Ayleid King Extensions

That mod is similar to the other mod I listed, but it adds the bowls, jugs, and other clutter to the throneroom in Nenalata, along with a re-textured elven cuirass.



EDIT(3) Ayleid Shield is meant to go with the MadCat's weapon mod.



EDIT(4) Parps Ayleid Guidebook contains the locations of the Ayleid ruins. Might be considered a cheat. Personally, I like the idea.

EDIT(2) Elven Warrior Armor this armor is not specifically Ayleid, but it might appeal to certain people. As such, it won't show up on the list.

Nope (better not be because the authors were not contacted for permissions)
It was decided when Hobbs,FFF, and I created it that the resources contained within would stay exclusive to that mod.
So the stand alone version is the only way to gain it.

Only two.
Arrows of the Ayleid King, and The Quinga Bow (that I made for MadCat221 which has been released as a stand alone, and added to Ayleid Meteoric Iron Weapons). Big thanks to MadCat221 for the request, and very detailed concept art smile.gif
Okay, I had to make sure I had them all.
If no one has anything else to contribute, I am going to start writing up the list. I can't think of anything else to add. I am debating whether or not to add certain pieces of armor which could be considered "Ayleid" or "Elven". Perhaps I should make an "unrelated" category?
Don't forget to add Silorn Manor (mentioned above) to the houses list.

If I might nominate Sousmarin Manor (screenie, screenie) and Avai Rii (screenie, screenie)? They're both terrific mods - underwater homes - with lots of atmosphere.

Also the Mist Retreat by Exilehunter is pretty fantastic.

I have taken Ayleid King Extensions off of the list. Ayleid Extensions is the new version and contains everything that the old one used to have. If you downloaded Ayleid King Extensions, please upgrade to the new version.

Enchanted Druid Treehome, if I read the ingame journals right, is a house that was inhabited by an Alyeid in hiding, if this counts for you list.
TESNExus search on all things Ayleid.

An interesting one is a retexture of Ayleid with darker ruins. I would have used it for how much darker it makes underground levels, but I didn't like how it also made above ground ruins dark as well.
I have already done a search. I am not sure if I should include retextures or not.

No, I don't think that the druid tree home would count as "ayleid". It does have a couple welkynd stones, but that is as far as it goes.
There is actually another version of Ayleid Sanctum by Phoenix Trill, this one an alteration by Ceano.

You can find it on Ceano's Mods download page, here. I prefer this version to the original.

Theres two flavors, one with Home Teleport, and one without. (Ayleid Sanctuary HT v1.2 has a teleport spell, Ayleid Sanctuary NHT v1.2 does not)

The Cluster Treasures mod may be compatible with those, I haven't tried it. I suppose I can and let you know.

Basically it was just a concern; Ive got quite a few mods that all alter cells on top of each other, which is a recipe for trouble, from all I've read on the subject. Now most of those mods are pretty mainstream, and from all I know are pretty "clean" mods. For Example OOO, StarX Vanilla Vampires Revised, Frans, Nicorishi Creations, etc. All of these alter cells in dungeons and Ayleid Ruins, but they all play together pretty well. I know little of the Welkynd Cluster Treasures mod -it works fine with just MMM+Frans- and when in doubt, leave it out.

That said I'm going to reactivate the mod, check it in TES4VIEW then go trawling through some ruins to see if it does, in fact, break anything obvious. I doubt it would, but you never know. My biggest concern was the numerous quests added by OOO. I'm still pretty unfamiliar with OOO and the depth of it is staggering. A problem there would most likely only show up in the long run.

My crystal crag fortress, was orig. DLC conflicting, but there is now a compatable version. You can get the orig. at PES, and Elric, and the DLC compat. one off my website/mediafire link.

I don't frequent the OFF forums much, but if you need help with it, or other houses you can come to the ORE forum and ask us house modders and we can help you out. Elven houses are fun to build.

Mo problem. I made a new character specifically to do this last night, so tonight I'll be dungeon delving and checking things out.

Hehe, I had to use WillieSeas Levelers Cheat shack, no way I could survive a dungeon in FCOM at low levels. Should have some info on compatibility tomorrow.

Not sure if this counts or not but I love Koldorn's Ayleid Ruin textures over the originals. They look more worn, and less bright (also more detailed). To my eye more like what a ruin should look like after sitting vacant for many years.

Regarding Welkynd Cluster Treasures:

Well I spent last night crawling through eight or nine random Ayleid Ruins, all the appropriate clusters were active, and there were no obvious problems with OOO I could find. I got one repeatable crash on the door into the last section of Vilverin, but dropping my bedroll there and sleeping 24 hours for a cell reset solved the issue, so that most probably was just a bad spawn.

I hadn't gotten to any Ayleid Ruins altered by StarX's mod -I will take a look tonight or tomorrow-, but I think as long as the Cluster Treasures mod is loaded before it there should be no issues. If any of the White Welkynd lights were removed or altered they would of course not be harvestable, but I don't think that would cause any serious issues. I could be wrong, as I said I'll check.

Out of all the Ayleid architecture retextures I have tired, I like this the best Isathars Ayleid Retexture v2. I didn't see it on the list.

My favourite Ayleid texture replacer is the ones in QTP3. In fact, it's the only QTP3 textures I'm using currently. Guess it wouldn't fit on the list, though, as it's just a small part of the pack.

The board resets about 11;20 central time everyday, post near that time sometimes double up if it is cached,

I tried it last year. It was... interesting. The project was abandoned a long time ago, and the texture issue seems to be based around a texture path issue (I can't confirm that as I haven't used it in so long. Maybe I'll install it again).

It had a fair bit of potential, but the location just seemed wrong somehow (its smack dab in the middle of Lake Rumare). Perhaps if it were in its own private worldspace (such as a variant of Paradise).

Yes, I just finished testing it. I am not adding it to the list. The details were simply marvelous, but there were more problems than it was worth. There were clipping issues, texture path problems, and there is no DistantLOD so it kinda appears out of nowhere. I really wish that this wasn't the case. I love the amount of work that was put into this. sleep.gif

You probably installed the glittering geology esp that comes with the mod.

That adds gold weight, but doesn't allow you to drop gold.

Okay, I'll try unchecking that one and keeping the other.
I have seen stuff here on retextures, and in some of the images of some of the house mods I have seen the ruins having pure white outsides. Which mod would add this? And would it effect all Ayleid ruins, or are there separate meshes and textures? I would really like to know...
Totally spaced off on the Welkynd Treasures, woops.

Long story short, as long as the mod is loaded before OOO and StarX Vanilla Vampires (and similar mods which make drastic alterations to interior cells with White Welkynd Cluster lights) there appears to be no serious issues, some of the clusters just aren't lootable. I could find no bugs, crashes or glitches introduced as a result of using the Cluster Treasures mod, in general or with regards to Dungeon related quests.

As for the mod itself, it's not terribly unbalancing, though it isn't terribly balanced either. As an example, the lowest form of stone you can find is Descendent. When these come with an Attribute or Skill enchantment, it is +7 (Consider the Base Ring of Attribute is +2). A bit high for a the lowest level. Similarly, the Elemental resists are a bit high (15%), while the Shield (5%) and Weapon enchantments (5 damage for Elemental, 10 for dmg HP/MP and 5-10 for the absorb x 1 sec) are more balanced. Fortify HP, MP and FP were also well below broken, coming in at 10 points each.

The added amount of Soul Gems I didn't find unbalancing, as even in the high 20's I was still finding mostly Petty and Lesser Soul Gems and Descendent stones.

Think I'll keep the mod active, I like acrobatic rewards.

I think that would be Ceano's Ayleid Ruins. Not 100%, though - there might be other replacers used in some cases. It's a texture replacer, so it will affect all Ayleid ruins.

BTW, it doesn't seem to be on the list - so there's a new addition.

Actually Children of Rourken Episode 1 should be in INDIRECT list, it is just using Ayleid structures with my crazy visions how Ayleid dungeons should look like, but it is about Dwemer, Episode 2 will also be like that. If you think that it can pass as Ayleid mod, hey, I don`t mind! laugh.gif

Children of Rourken: Aba Lorsel Av Malatu mod that I am working on is mostly about Ayleid and their connection with Dwemer, but 95% Ayleid...

Felmoon Air Fortress

It is a house mod that comes in two (separately downloaded) flavors: dawn and dusk. Dawn Felmoon is a well-furnished, beautiful home that is constructed with the Camoran's Paradise tileset. Dusk Felmoon, however, is a bare, grim, and fractured version of the lovely Ayleid home.

I'm suprised Lost Spires hasn't been mentioned. It's a long popular quest mod, with lots of new lore. It's not particularly Ayleid focused, but the new lore ties in with the Ayleids a bit, and it includes a fair sized new Ayleid ruin.

Belle Relleis is a decent ayleid mod IMO, and it would be the first spell in your list, or at least the first one I saw. It's a shock spell that branches out ti hit foes near your primary target. Handy mod IMO. Linky Linky.

Good idea there. The last I heard it wasn't that close to completion.
I might add that this was a few months ago most likely.
Damn, if it is not close to completion then I am even more excited for the final version. The beta is perfectly playable is, only had one bug I saw (a slightly floating plant), and is pretty damned awesome.
I will search for the UL thread and see how completed this BETA is and what the team has to say about using it.

The May 17 post where I got the beta link from said it was virtually complete and would be released in a few days. I have it installed and the only thing incomplete seems to be the LOD's. But presumably the proper release will be out soon anyway.

Yeah, yes and no. The basic story though is about the return of an ancient Ayleid king who threatens Cyrodiil. Your quest is to recover the lost armour of the hero, Pelinal, who first fought him in the last battles of the Ayleids and men. The other main storyline about the Knights of the Nine order doesn't have much to do with the elves, although the "Crusade" which follows is raised to fight them, or rather the semi-immortal king and his daedra servants the Aurorans. For people interested in the Ayleid civilisation the expansion does contain quite a bit of lore. I thought it fleshed them out quite a bit.

However, I am going to leave KOTN off. I don't feel comfortable putting the official DLCs on the list.
I played Lair of the Exile and there were no problems with the "Exile" part of it, but it's basically an uber-critter in a large Ayleid room. I didn't try the "Pirate" part of it. So there's nothing particularly Ayleid about it.
I know this is probably silly of me to even mention this but thanks for adding this list. I'm also really into the ayleids and as of such have a number of mods made entirely for me about them ... I've got the beginngs of my current one posted but...the part with the ayleids and all the neat stuff and the quests and really all the stuff that I want Is still WIP all I have so far is a mini dungeon with some bandits posted ...I have the next part which adds two more levels to the wild elves (ara clan) dungeon/city it will add a bunch of lore and beyond talking about where the ayleids are and how they vanished. thing is the ayleids I made are just tanned human to show how living in the forests have made them closer to wood elves. I'm working on making them a bit more unique ..ie. not so human looking

bg2408(did I get that number right?) has a mod called the Race Balancing Project that adds a race that is of aylied origin, called the Hidden Elves. Note: this is stretching the indirect label IMO, but at least it works to a degree.
