This is intended to be a list of things which bring back Morrowind or Morrowind-inspired things into the world of Oblivion. Let's be clear right from the start, only art assets (models, textures, sounds, etc.) entirely recreated from scratch are allowed. So, do not bring up the topic of that program. It's taboo. Don't ask, don't tell.

This list is a work-in-progress, please contribute by listing mods or resources I may have forgotten or I do not know about. smile.gif

Morrowind Creatures & ItemsPlaces & Landmass
  • Caldera adds Caldera town and environs as a place to go to.
Personalities & Celebrities
  • Caius Cosades: Features our favorite shirtless spy, doing a simple cameo appearance at Could Ruler Temple.
  • Creeper in Oblivion by Aelwyn: Features our favorite Ghorak Manor resident, the scamp merchant Creeper!
  • Elder Council Plugin adds some old Morrowind faces to the Elder Council.
  • Romancing Ahnassi brings back the Khajiit girl from Pelagiad to Anvil.
  • Gaenor in Dementia tells you where this crazy Bosmer went after the Nerevarine killed him in Mournhold.
Morrowind-Like Graphic Tweaks
  • Morrowind-Style Dremora: Features, unsurprisingly enough, a playable race of Dremora that looks just like they did in Morrowind. At least for the face.
  • Leviathan Soulgems replaces the Oblivion soul gems with beautiful Morrowind-style soulgems.
  • Dark Green Glass Armour changes the bright vanilla green of glass armor and weapons to the beautiful, rich green of Morrowind's glass items. Check the thread here for how to make this mod a true texture replacement.
  • Mud Crabs! makes the mudcrabs' shells look more like that of the Morrowind mudcrabs.
  • Morrowind-style Argonians makes the argonian faces closer in aspect to those in Morrowind.
Morrowind-Like Gameplay Tweaks
  • The Lost Telvanni Codex contains several scripted spells that replace the missing spell effects from Morrowind.
  • Audae in Cyrodiil features the possibility for your character to become an Audae, Berne or Quarra vampire instead of the Cyrodiil vampire.
  • Cyrodiil Transportation Network: Brings back Morrowind-style travel with NPCs and teleportation spells, and allow you to keep, disable or re-enable Oblivion's fast travel system.
  • Guild Skill Requirements adds, well, skill requirements for guild rank andvancements. Now my stealth character will have to be proficient in magic before becoming archmage.
  • Guild Chests is one of several mods on TESNexus that adds chests with supplies to the Mages and Fighters Guild. Similar chests existed for Morrowind's guilds. I don't know what items are contained in the mod I mentioned, as I'm in the process of starting a new character.
  • Robes Over is an excellent mod that allows your character to wear robes over armor/other clothing, with no clipping issues. Requires OBSE. There are other non-OBSE mods that allow robes to be worn over armor.
  • Cover Yourself brings back the Morrowind NPC awareness of when you got out of bed without your pants on. Requires OBSE.
  • Natural Magic Skills Improvement makes spell skill advancement factor in the magicka cost for a spell, just like in Morrowind. Supreme Magicka also has this feature, as well as many other features that replicate the system of magic used in Morrowind.
  • Friendlier Summons prevents your summoned units from attacking allies (or you) if the ally (or you) accidently hit the summoned creature during combat.
  • Artifact Fix improves the enchantments on daedric artifacts (as well as the imperial dragon armor). It makes the artifacts more powerful.
  • Nighteye Shader Replacement contains various replacements for the vanilla "blue-world" night eye shader. The "very bright" shader makes using Night Eye a lot closer to the Morrowind Night Eye.
  • Chameleon-NoRefraction changes the vanilla visual effects of Chameleon to a general fading effect, similar to Morrowind's.
  • Toggleable Quantity Prompt is an OBSE plugin that brings back the Ctrl+clic and Shift+click features of the Morrowind inventory UI. (Simply put, Ctrl+click is "just one" and Shift+click is "all".)
Modders' resourcesWork-in-Progress
  • Tel Aryon 2.0: A Telvanni tower south of the Black Woods, by JonSatriani.
  • Sheogorad: A faithful recreation of the Sheogorad region of the Vvardenfell district by Phitt, complete with recreation of all meshes by himself or the Silgrad Tower team.
  • Hel Borne's Chitin Armor and Weapons for Oblivion: A recreation of, surprise, Chitin armor and weapons, for Oblivion and by Hel Borne.
  • Project Solstheim-Vvardenfell-Mournhold: A landmass mod by the SoVvM team, bringing back the regions seen in Morrowind GotY. Forum here, public beta here.
  • Silgrad Tower: A landmass mod by the ST team, bringing back the regions seen in their TES3 mod as well as many elements of Morrowind, architecture, flora, booze...
  • Hel Borne's other WIPs: currently including a few daedric weapons waiting for McMuffin's Daedric Lord textures and a couple of crossbows waiting for a good crossbow mod.
  • Vvardenfell Glass: Will feature many Morrowind-style glass weapons and armors, by Conan_Lon aka LHammonds.
Older than Morrowind
  • Daggerfall Memories: The Liberation of Cybiades, by Deathless Aphrodite. Yes, this one is about Daggerfall nostalgia.
  • New Sheogorath, by Kirel, makes Sheggy younger, looking like he did in Daggerfall, before the gray march of his hair. Doesn't give him the banker's coat, though.
  • Sexier Sheogorath, by Princess Stomper, makes Sheggy, well, sexier and also younger as in Daggerfall, too. Still no banker's coat. tongue.gif
  • Tamriel Rebuilt, aiming to bring back the land you saw in Arena, Daggerfall, Redguard and even Shadowkey: Hammerfell. (Rest of the land covered by Arena and Daggerfall not included. We're crazy-ambitious, but not crazy-crazy-ambitious.)
COBL incorporates Tamrielic Ingredients and books from the previous games

Whoops - my bad - you had it listed as 'Common Oblivion Library'. Guess it's been a while since I've called it that. smile.gif
I added (Cobl) to its name to avoid further confusion. smile.gif
Creeper in Oblivion by Aelwyn. It's listed as a beta, but I have no problems at all with it. There's at least 1 other Creeper mod on Nexus, but this one functions more like MW's Creeper.

Thanks for making this list! I am sure I'll be checking in frequently.

Oh, and Princess Stomper made a mod that adds Caius Cosades to Cloud Ruler Temple.
I made a list on my site a long time ago if you want to extend yours.
I also have these WIP:

MW style Dwemer Crossbow
MW style Steel Crossbow

These are resources (meshes/textures) for some talented scripters that are re-introducing crossbows to OB.

MW style Daedric Mace
MW style Daedric Warhammer

I've been sitting on these 'til McMuffin gets his armor released as I'm trying to coax him into letting me incorporate his textures so they match his armor set. Thats up to him of course.

Thank you, added both.

I made a list on my site a long time ago if you want to extend yours.

Thanks, I took the Cyrodiil Transportation Network from it. The old-school artifact mod adds them to leveled list and doesn't have unique meshes, so I kept it out. The books from MrDarkSim's mod are integrated in Cobl, so I won't add it (same reason I won't add separately Tarnsman's Tamriel Ingredients).

QUOTE(Hel Borne @ Mar 25 2008, 10:38 PM) *
I also have these WIP:

Thanks, I've added them collectively with a link to your screenshot thread.

Keep 'em coming, boys and girls! smile.gif
You could also add Cryo's Ordinator armor and the WIP for the Vvardenfel Glass armor (I only have an old thread but you get the idea).
Both added, thanks. smile.gif
Leviathan Soulgems replaces the Oblivion soul gems with beautiful Morrowind-style soulgems.
Caldera adds Caldera town and environs as a place to go to. Seems to faithfully replicate that town (I have not yet played Oblivion with the mod, though I look forward to it).
Guild Skill Requirements adds, well, skill requirements for guild rank andvancements. Now my stealth character will have to be proficient in magic before becoming archmage.
Guild Chests is one of several mods on TESNexus that adds chests with supplies to the Mages and Fighters Guild. Similar chests existed for Morrowind's guilds. I don't know what items are contained in the mod I mentioned, as I'm in the process of starting a new character.
Robes Over is an excellent mod that allows your character to wear robes over armor/other clothing, with no clipping issues. Requires OBSE. There are other non-OBSE mods that allow robes to be worn over armor.
Elder Council Plugin adds some old Morrowind faces to the Elder Council. However, I haven't started a game with this mod yet, though I look forward to doing so.
Tamrielic Ingredients adds ingredients not only from Morrowind but from other TES games to Oblvion.
Dark Green Glass Armour changes the bright vanilla green of glass armor and weapons to the beautiful, rich green of Morrowind's glass items. Check the thread here for how to make this mod a true texture replacement.
Imperial City Library contains all the TES books. These mods add Battlespire Books, Daggerfall Books, and Morrowind Books.
Cover Yourself brings back the Morrowind NPC awareness of when you got out of bed without your pants on. Requires OBSE.
Daedric Crescent Blade adds the Daedric Crescent to Oblivion.
Boots of Blinding Speed adds the Boots of Blinding Speed to Oblivion. The vision change is an intense blurring effect rather than a total blackout (though, in Morrowind, if you had resist magicka or night eye, the darkening of the world lessened).
Colovian Fur Helms brings back Morrowind's silly-looking colovian fur helmets.
Natural Magic Skills Improvement makes spell skill advancement factor in the magicka cost for a spell, just like in Morrowind. Supreme Magicka also has this feature, as well as many other features that replicate the system of magic used in Morrowind.
Friendlier Summons prevents your summoned units from attacking allies (or you) if the ally (or you) accidently hit the summoned creature during combat. Honestly, in the heat of battle it is so easy to accidently hit your summoned unit, they keep rushing around and getting in the way of sword strikes, spells, and arrows.
Artifact Fix improves the enchantments on daedric artifacts (as well as the imperial dragon armor). It makes the artifacts more powerful -- I found that some vanilla enchanted weapons were on par with these supposedly mighty artifacts. For me, at least, the mod brings back the the feeling that I have a mighty weapon.
Nighteye Shader Replacement contains various replacements for the vanilla "blue-world" night eye shader. I use the "very bright" shader (which doesn't have a preview screenshot, oddly enough). I find this makes using Night Eye a lot easier on, well, my eyes. Reminds me of the Morrowind Night Eye, which made dark places look brighter.
Chameleon-NoRefraction changes the vannila visual effects of Chameleon to a general fading effect. IIRC, Morrowind's chameleon effect was similar?
Nice List..perhaps add this..

This is still a wipz but is in beta stage Lore Creature's Pack Guar Modificiation

I actually had an idea regarding this, which is to make a texturing resource kit for matching my stuff, with my base textures, rivets, borders, et cetera pre-rendered. This way it should be easier for weapon modelers to match the style should they so choose.

As an aside, I recently noticed the Darker Daedric - Black textures blend with mine reasonably already.

That would be nice for continuity.

Yes, I will. Maybe not everyday, but I will. And look, I just did! smile.gif

QUOTE(Jimfish @ Mar 30 2008, 02:22 PM) *

I don't see how that bring to Oblivion something that is in Morrowind Goty? huh.gif

Note: I'm not putting "Morrowind books" or "Tamrielic Ingredients" in the list because both are superceded by Cobl.
Perhaps Mud Crabs! given that the Mud Crabs look sort of like they did in Morrowind? Maybe even the mod that must remain unnamed given that one of the Wogs has an appearance similiar to the Kagouti. Though they are four legged rather than two legged as in MW. shrug.gif
Added the mudcrab, left out the other -- it's not a real kagouti.

I just remembered Ilseroth's Ahnassi mod, so I've added it.
You should also add TES4: Vvardenfell
Added...
Has no one mentioned Gaenor in Dementia yet?

Gaenor
Added.

Might be interested in the Scimitars I just released also

Nicos Scimitars

I based their shape on the Her Hand's Guard blades from Tribunal. smile.gif
Here's some of mine:

Gift of Kynareth - Lord's Mail (retex, full set)
The Forgotten Shields - Eleidon's Ward (plus a bunch of other items lore-friendly, ie Fearstruck, Symmachus' Dagger, etc.)
Weapons of the Nine - my take on Morrowind-style Ebony weapons and armor (retexes, full sets)
There's also Toggleable Quantity Prompt v2.2. Allows you to use the shift/ctrl keys like in Morrowind to select one item or an entire stack of items at once. Not that I'm self-advertising or anything toughninja.gif
nice list.

Awesome list, I'm using lots of these.
While I didn't make it, you might want to add Jjiinx's Morrowind Style Argonians mod to your list. smile.gif

I'm actually working on a final version right now with *gasp* Creeper sounds biggrin.gif

One niggle that needs patching is the inventory dump script. Creeper dumps all items at seven day intervals, but that might not be enough for lewt hounds like myself with magickal bags o' holding. I'm thinking about reseting it to one in-game day.

Very helpful list, i'm using a lot of these.
Feel free to add SoVvM to the list too: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16976 This is the ultimate Morrowind nostalgia mod because it recreates the 3 regions from Morrowind and its expansions. Most of the other Morrowind resources are also incorporated into this mod. Keening, Sunder etc.

It's private release for now, but we're always looking for volunteer testers. Soon, it will become public as well.

Thanks, added.
The Love/Romance mod and the companion mod where that dunmer goes with you throughout the entire game, has his own story line that crisscrosses with yours, has something to say about everything in the game... anyone remember what it was? Epic mod...
You mean the Romance Mod for Morrowind? And Julan, Ashlander Companion or Jiub Companion?

Nothing quite like the first is available for Oblivion, although there are a couple of WIPz along somewhat similar lines. For story-driven Companions, SImyaz's mods Ruined-Tail's Tale or The Tears Of The Fiend are detailed works, although not really older TES games related.
Definitely another bookmark until i get oblivion fixed ^^
Nice list, but your The Forgotten Shields and Gift of Kynareth both link to the Forgotten Shields.

My lockpicking mods (see siggy) bring back realtime lockpicking. They don't work exactly like in Morrowind (nor were they intended to), but are quite a lot closer than that minigame.

If that's a subtle hint that you'd like to put it among your mod guides (like TOQL and TOTO), you have my blessing! smile.gif
I'm not perfectly sure if Skyrim Armory could go on the list, but if you want to add it, go ahead.
Well this will fit for sure since it bring back some nostalgia to oblivion..

Personal Pack Guar Release

keep up the list..

Nordic trollbone, nordic mail, bear, wolf, stahlrim... Sure it fits! Lots of Morrowind and Bloodmoon elements.
